"Who you are is what you settle for, you know?"
- Janis Joplin
Eu E Bobby Mcgee
Kris Kristofferson
Destruído em Baton Rouge,
Dirigiu-se para os trens.
Eu estava me sentindo quase tão desbotado quanto meu jeans.
Bobby manuseou um diesel para baixo,
Pouco antes de chover;
Levou-nos até New Orleans.
Tirei meu arpão da minha bandana vermelha suja,
E estava soprando triste enquanto Bobby cantava o blues.
E todas as noites ela me protegia do frio.
Me And Bobby Mcgee
Kris Kristofferson
Busted flat in Baton Rouge,
Headed for the trains.
I was feelin' nearly as faded as my jeans.
Bobby thumbed a diesel down,
Just before it rained;
Took us all the way to New Orleans.
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna,
And was blowin' sad while Bobby sang the blues.
With then windshield wipers slappin time, and Bobby clappin' hands,
We finally sang up every song that driver knew,
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose,
Nothin' ain't worth nothin' but it's free.
Feelin' good was easy, lord when Bobby sang the blues,
And feelin' good was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
From the coal mines of Kentucky to the California sun,
Bobby shared the secrets of my soul.
Standin' right beside me lord though everything I done,
And every night she kept me from the cold.
Then one night in Salinas, lord I let her slip away,
Lookin' for that home I hope she finds.
But I'd trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday,
Holdin' Bobby's body next to mine.
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose,
Nothin' left is all she left for me.
Feelin' good was easy, lord, when Bobby sang the blues,
And feelin' good was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.
Growing up in the Bay Area, I was blessed to see Janis at her very best….live. I still miss her!

I still have my tickets what a show
It's one I sing from the trees I work in.😮 yeah baby!
Why the director and producers of the Woodstock movie did not include one of Janis' performance in the movie is beyond me! She was not only a gifted blues singer with THAT VOICE of hers she was also one helluva performer! Love and Light Janis... ❤
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose", still gets me, just think about it (and there's Seasick Steve: "Started out with nothing, and still got most of it left", good antidote!)
Janis Lyn Joplin war eine großartige Sängerin
I was 11 years old in 1969. Too young for Woodstock but JESUS!!!!! the music that came outta there. Nothin' and no one can touch it today.
Lindaaa ♥️
I was there. Even though the weather was awful, I didn’t mind. Never again will music like this happen. Never again will people be able to together and not have anything but peace, love and the best music ever. And we were lucky enough to have been there.
Cannot have another Woodstock as evidenced but #2 & #3 Devo had it right
Brilliant still gives gives me chills when I listen to janis❤
Ответитьi wonder what the purpose of having a tom cruise lookalike be in the next dorm down in sdsu
I wish I was there but I was born too late for that. 37 years too late. They really don't make them like they used to.

Ответитьnot me crying to Bobby McGee at 7:30 am
Only the good die young! 😢
I was one older than the Woodstock concert in 69. I was born during the Apollo 11 moon landing. My birth date was 18 July 1969.
Ответить❤❤❤ she is My Love, (RIP) 8180, D.C. New York; Constatinapoliticamente🌹✈️🎩💲
I’d trade all my tomorrows for one single yesterday…. Epic.
Thanks to the documentary movie, I have proof that my momma took me as a very young kid of 3 to Woodstock. My mom is scene 19 times in it and it shows me dancing naked as a kid with no worries in the world. This will always go down as the best ever concert! It will never be matched again!
Ответитьso unfair, was born in the wrong decade

So waren wir in deinem Alter
Ooof, men were just soooo hot at this time 🔥🔥🔥
Janis recorded this 5 days before she left us. Rest In Peace
Who's the woman just before Joe Cocker?
April 26th code is: K SO
Imagine Janis for half-time show...
Great time. 💖 Best wishes from Belgrade - Serbia.
Listening to all of Janis’ music today which would’ve been her 80th birthday.
Janis Joplin was to blues-rock what Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald were to jazz.
Thanks for the footage. Yes, I was there...had no conception of what it was gonna be like until I got there...unreal. What an experience. Never forget Janis and Grace Slick on the stage together...they didn't sing together...they were contemplating the probabilities of electrical equipment vs. rain.
I've nostalgie 69/70.......because i"m free woman......i have 68 years .....I LOVE JANIS AND MANY MANY ARTISTS/SONGS/MUSIC IN WOODSTOCK...........forever
Janis had her "own" style, hard on the outside, but hurting in her heart turned her into a sensational performer.
Rock never really recovered from losing her.
"Freedom is another word for nothing left to lose" No shit.
I didn't make it to Woodstock, HOWEVER, in 1970, when the movie came out, I was working @ Theatre chain( walk-in& 2 drive-ins) 3 showings per day Thurs/Fri/Sun, 4 on Sat @walk-in, 2 per day Fri/Sat @ drive-in. I averaged 2 per day X28 days=56 times!! It has played in my sleep!! Is it a record?? I dunno. Boom-lakka-lakka, Boom-lakka-lakka, Hey!Hey!Hey! Now I know why I drink!!
Wow all I can say is so much for posting follow that
Ответитьthat womans white afro is incredible
Maravillosa canción!!
