How to Install Flush Mount Ceiling Light

About 3 or 4 initial steps missing. Where do the hole and wires come from?

If you rely on these steps solely, you may end up dead. You need to turn off the power first! Also, some apartments you need to legally get a qualified electrician to change and inspect for you as you are responsible for the safety of other residents as well.

Step one: Make sure power is off at breakerboard.

Not flush mount but okay

I had a flourescent fixture in my kitchen ceiling. Took it down and replaceing it with a led fixture. Wired it up, turned on power to check it and nothing. Does the wiring for the flourescent fixture was a two light system. Noticed in the ceiling there are four wires but two are connected as one, leaving me three wires to hook up. Have any suggestions?
