I think the ending of a show/anime is integral to calling it a masterpiece Re:Zero is my second favorite anime, but I won't call it a masterpiece until it's ended. I also think Re:zero is way too hated by stupid people around the world, mostly people who needs the MC to be an unrealistic hero. Their favorite MC is probably Kirito. I would argue that even Eren cries more over less. Atleast in the first 3 seasons. Then they made him way too opposite of that in the last season.

I think there are many reasons why I really like this anime. But one of the main reasons is that I can relate to Subaru's, and the overarching theme for many characters that they have no worth for who they are. Subaru feels that people only liked him becasue of how well who could perform being a fun guy, and then when he met Emilia and found out about his powers he developed a self sacrificing pawn complex becasue Emilia had worth, she gave out a helping hand to people.

And Emilia has dealt with prejudice, but I think her main struggle is coming to terms with how much she was loved by the people she ultimatly harmed or that she think she harmed, and that she struggles coming to terms with the fact that the love she recieved was still justified, wether or not she hurt the those people.

Rem and Emilia have a lot similarities. But with Rem for me she seems to hold on to something very similar to Subaru as well, that being the powers she has are only to be used in service of others, like her sister, Roswaal, and eventually Subaru. There are others as well with this kind of character progression of finding and accepting ones own self worth. Like Beatrice, Roswaal kind of(I think that's the direction his character is going anyways), Garfiel. And I think the catalyst for a lot of their progression are that a lot of them see worth in the others, and also that Otto has kind of already found his own worth and helped Subaru find his, and the witches were pretty supportive too for both Subaru and Emilia(maybe unintentionally with Emilia).

All that being said the music is just also really, really good. And the visuals.

I rewatched Re:Zero and noticed Rem's gradual change of attitude and way of speaking and was able to pinpoint where she fell for him in season 1. 😚

I do like the show overall but I couldn't ever care for Subaru or Emilia story ark - all of the rem related storylines or Betelgeuse - we're more interesting and bit more home. If they wanted us to care about Emilia they needed to give her a bit more depth. This show was anything from 3/10 (any Subaru / Emilia episodes) to a 10/10 episode 15 - such mixed feelings but I just couldn't care in anyway at the end. Emilia needed more screen time in the middle of the show or she needed to have more depth.

Tappei Nagatsuki honestly reminds me of Tolkien. Tolkien was on another level, like he wrote and entire world, the history, politics, languages, and every lore aspect of his world, and Tappei did the same but a little lower.
And what is The Lord Of the Rings considered? A masterpiece. Re:Zero is like its child, if we look at the author's dedication. Fuck you fight me.

I only have one nitpick with this video (that I'm watching for the third ir fourth time) is that Priscilla is called worst girl, which fair, she's a pretty shity person and I'm not here to change anyones opinions, but remembering that most people hate her has made me remember how she has weirdly groen on me, to the point that she's one of my favourite characters (her design is also perfect in my opinion). I hate when most of the characters, specially the female ones, have a personality that is based on the MC and another random trait. That has made me double down, so the characters I most love are those who have the most excentric personality ever, which has made me really like Priscilla, she knows who she is and she won't let anyones change that. Aside from this, the novel has shown that she would be a really good ruler, since for all her talk in her inherent superiority and supernatural luck, she uses those traits to make those beneath her happy (she still sees them as beneath her because she isn't exactly a good person, but she's a noblewoman, her personality is compleatly understandable, specially for someone as talented as she is shown to be in the novels).
This wasn't really a nitpick, just my personal opinion and like the other times a watched the video, loved it.

The fact that this show can actually make me scared that Subaru the mc can die is awesome and its hard to truly tell when he will win because even moments of massive character development seem like a give away that he'll win and then something un acounted for like his first real attempt at beating geuse and hes killed. in rems confession i was actually scared that Subaru would die and that moment would not exist because that confession was very important to Subaru and rem and other moments in season 2 where characters i like became so much better and the fear of Subaru dying and having all their progress reset and all the decisions and impact hes had on them disappear is great they turn the death of the mc into a real threat to the story Subaru cant truly die so the series or mc changing isn't a problem its that the other characters can be affected they could revert back yo how they were before and that also has a affect on Subaru like how hes alwas mad no one understands him because 90% of his interactions with them get reset so he knows so much about others and has so many feelings for others that they cant understand because that timeline was reset and only Subaru remembers

If this kind of anime is a masterpiece then other weeeell more famous, impactful or just funny or better animation...what you call them? i think is just a bad use the word there, the fact that the market is full of shit doesn't make above avarage products a masterpiece, or maybe people just fall in love with drawn characters
