PreSonus ERIS E3.5 Studio Monitors - The BEST $99 Speakers You Can Mix On?

So I'm new to audio equipment so I'm not sure what to buy in general. Should I go for the 3.5 with a sub or the 4.5s by them self. Also how would I hook them up to the sub

Hey thanks for the awesome video. I ended up purchasing these to replace my old comp speakers, I just had a question. I don't plan on playing BOTH unbalanced and balanced sources at the same time. Is it still bad to have both plugged in even if one isn't playing anything?

Had these for 2 years..they arw exceptional. Use them for DJ practice and PC. Didn't know they had a sub available. I'll pick up the sub next!

I have purchased Eris E3,5, because I like to make mix and master on a small monitors and last stage at home stereo alike speakers (Edifier 1600 or Tannoy Mercury). And at the first moment, I have had kind of mixed impressions. Highs, and most of the sound picture has been brutally accurate. But woofer has been "booming" (could be due the small membrane, and tunning of bass reflex to 150 Hz). But I took some time to break the speaker from "stiffness" after the manufacturing. Now, a weeks after sound is way better. Laws of fisics does not give chance 3,5 inch woofer and small volume box to reproduce fundamental basses. But after some time with Eris 3,5 you can feel them by sound engineer instinct. Good studio monitors. But time will tell are they durable, as they seem not been design for repair works. That is regarded to pasive piece. My last album was mastered on Eris 3,5.

This was super helpful. I’m looking for a set of new speakers for my setup that I can start mixing and mastering for recording. It seems like a great place to get started without breaking the bank. Thanks!

so whats the point of showing us that an interface gets connected to them if nobody is going to show us themselves playing a guitar and singing over these speakers? I've watched numerous videos and nobody does it

These things cant even handle their own sound, pretty shitty despite the price. You can mix on macbook speakers if you really wanted but if youre looking to hear a good spectrum of sound these are not it.

They sound AMAZING .. but they die regularly. Sometimes the Fuse (fixable but a pain in the ass, soldering required). Bigger ones prone to electronic failure too. I'm 4 sets in now so speaking from experience. Think I'll give up on the brand until they fix their QC.

now my question is ones i see in videos and on the site i see it has a grill on the small uppers peaker but mine came with the two holes instaed the grill?

If you intend to play a guitar through these and like a metal tone with low end, you WILL experience rattle from the cone. Even with the acoustic bass level turned all the way down.

I own these . You can indeed trust your mixes will translate well to other end user mediums i.e cars, home systems etc..# 2 In a nearfied environment 10 to 15 watts per side is stupid loud , 5 to 7 watts the norm for extensively long mix sessions ( 3 to 5 hrs.) #3 Zero ear fatigue as opposed to NS 10s , KRKs . I still prefer analog recording and vinyl ( yes cassette based) so getting south of 80k or north of 20khz is a non concern for me but if you're making beat heavy music a small sub wouldn't hurt I guess but it's certainly not necessary if your mix skills are good.# 5 the small size is actually an asset IMO , less room to contend with you can get right on top of these puppies and that in conjunction with a good pair of cans and you're golden. I record to a Tascam 424 MK III and I couldn't be more satisfied with my mixes One doesn't need 3 k monitors , 3 k mics, 3 k this 3 k that to make good records. One needs soul

It sounds so flat and not enough bass

Just got these for my desk setup. Happy with the looks and size. But god, the heaphone sound is terrible. I switch to headphones (AKG K545) when it's getting late and my gf goes to bed. But then these speakers are useless. It's like the headphones are mono and missing bass. Tested also different earphoens (Xiamoi Pistons) and same thing. Am I doing something wrong? I didn't find any settings regarding this.
