Certainly dont find my A30M running slow as you are highlighting, really depends on how good (or fast) the phone or the tablet you are using can process the info, the A30M for the home DIY who only is using it occcasionaly is a cracking bit of kit and excellent value for the money.

MAY DAMAGE YOUR CAR...I have (had) one of these A30M scanners. While traveling on the highway at 65mph, cruise set, I was bored and thought I would plug it in and view some live date, [2021 suburban 5.3 ]. After I plugged it in, I received a phone call, and was distracted for about 5 minutes. When I hung up, I glanced at the instrument cluster and observed the alternator gauge was reading about 12 volts, panic set in, but I did not see any warning lights or anything else out of the ordinary. I glanced at the a30m and it was reading 12.2 volts. I unplugged the A30M - and started planning an emergency stop at the next shop I could find, but the after roughly 15-20 seconds, the voltage retuned to normal. I have had no electrical or mechanical issues with the vehicle before this event, nor after - it has been a few weeks and I drive it every day. I had my mechanic check it and he did not find anything wrong with my vehicle.

I have been emailing xtool and they continually tell me this is normal. - Here is there latest reply...
"When a scan tool connects to a vehicle, it initiates a power draw from the vehicle's battery, which can momentarily lower the voltage level. This temporary voltage drop is a normal occurrence and typically doesn't damage the vehicle's battery. The voltage should return to its normal level once the connection is canceled, allowing the battery to recharge.
However, if you notice significant or consistent drops in voltage, it might be worth investigating further to ensure there are no underlying issues with either the vehicle's battery or the scan tool's power consumption. In most cases, the momentary drop in voltage during connection shouldn't cause damage to the vehicle's battery"

So if you feel xtool is correct - go for it, I am moving on to a different brand all together and will never buy there products again!

Is it worth it to get the D7/D8 if I have an older 2000 4Runner? I know it has OBD-II and I’ve used a cheaper Bluetooth module with it, but I don’t know how much “bidirectional” stuff that it has. I’m especially interested in the ability to program new key fobs and maybe test some of the evap system that seems to go out after many thousands of miles.

What are you using currently for a TPMS programmer?

Great pair of videos. I have a question - where does one go for the explanation of all of those acronyms on the screens? So many of those terms are Greek to me. Are the Toyota manuals with all of the training stuff available? I was a professional mechanic from 1972 until 1986, so I am very out of touch. I can tune a '68 Maserati with multiple carburetors, or rebuild a Detroit Diesel fuel injection system, but the new cars are an electronic maze to me.

Something is fishy about so many of the comments starting with "I am an advanced DIY mechanic" almost like these responses were created by a AI Bot of some kind. I have never seen this before and I watch a lot of automotive mechanic videos. Am I the only one here to think this?

But...do either the D7 or D8 fully support Mercedes cars? In other words, can either replace Xentry?

I have a 2016 Taco with a little oversized tires, I thought I was going to be able to cope with my ocd and tolerate the speedometer/odometer inaccuracy, the question is can any of these scanners correct the speedometer readings?

Can it read and manipulate the ECM or body module for Toyota, Honda, or Nissan vehicles? The D7(s) would NOT. The D7 had MANY missing models in Toyota and Honda.

I'm assuming you need a scan tool to adjust the auto headlight sensitivity on a 2011 hybrid camry since the manual says "ask your dealer"?

Don't know a thing about scan tools. My question is if I purchased the D8, 1. Can I get an English Manuel 2. Can I use the D8 on a multitude of different vehicles? I do not want to purchase a tool that is limited to one brand of automobile. Thank you in advance. God bless.

Is the XTool 819 better or the same as XTool D8 but with a smaller screen?

I know you own a Mercedes S class and in another video you talked about the topdon pheonix plus scan tool. I was wondering if you could tell me between the xtool d8 and the pheonix plus which scan tool is more capable, especially for Mercedes? Which one has better capability for things like programming modules?

I love your channel, but this D8 tool is garbage. It can’t auto detect my 2010 Malibu, when I put in the VIN, it misidentifies it as a hybrid and it’s not. Then live data doesn’t work on any module in the car. It’s so “good” they don’t even list it in their product line on the companies web page. I’m sending it back, keep up the good work!
