How to make your own VS Code theme!

If anyone runs into the issue of "you don't have an extension for debugging json with comments" or similar, make sure you open the correct folder in VS code. It has to be the one created from running the "yo code"-script

i cant find the .vscode folder (im on mac), does anybody know the file path???
(~/.vscode/extensions doesnt work with spotlight search)

Appreciate you taking the time to make a video, but this is a great example of a video that's way longer than it needs to be.
A lot of filler was added and this could easily be a 5-7 minute video.

The biggest problem I have is that VS Code uses TextMate tokens, NOT LSP tokens. TextMate sucks for complex languages like C++ because it's based on scopes and regexes (regular grammar) which (with scopes) are 1-2 levels below complexity on Chomsky hierarchy. C++ isn't even colored consistently, I get a lot of default white and some stuff (e.g. the same local object/function parameter) used multiple times gets a different color for different occurrences ... opposite of what is desired.

LSP is a game changer if your editor can use it to colorize. You get different colorization for stuff like out parameters, virtual function calls, overloaded operators, dependent names and many more... I wish VS Code used this information if it's available instead of fuzzy regexes.

"If it doesn't look cool, I don't wanna code." Replace "code" with anything and this is my life motto.

I wonder why it is so convoluted to use in the first place. You have to edit JSON or literally install helper applications to do it, instead of customising inside the application (VSCode alone) itself with clear instructions. So much work to change the editor colors...
