I still think the cars should be propelled into the crash object under their own power, as is will be the case when a collision occurs. Virtually all of these cars are “drive-by-wire” anyway. It should be hard for Mercedes-Benz to operate these cars by remote.

good, but if you dont consider the difference in height, better than 5 stars are meaningless. If you crash into relatively higher car, those crumple zone means nothing or at least their strength heavily compromised. Look at IIHS crash test with height difference, the lower car has awful damage. And this car is relatively low to the ground.

All cars with chrome wheels should be used in crash tests.

IIHS or Euro-NCAP crash tests would provide unbiased, more accurate data

I have worked in this Company for nearly 10 years....Every Cubiccentimeter is designed nothing happens "by Accident" - nothing! And it's wonderful to work with great experienced guy to develop something new

Mercedes Benz. Engineered like no other car in the world. I've had several and am an avid fan. Been in 2 collisions whilst driving Mercedes so am here to tell the tale.

Why is it manual

It looks like the passenger bag deployed way too early. It was already deflating before the dummy's head made contact. It also looked like the passenger side belt locks did not function. The dummy's Head and Shoulders moved forward way too much. And if the window was up, the driver's head would have blown it out. But yeah, absolutely zero intrusion into the passenger compartment on an offset impact is pretty impressive.

THE DESIGN HAS A LOT TO DO WITH IT'S SAFETY. THE BETTER THE ENGINEERING THE BETTER THE PRODUCT. UNDER ALL SITUATIONS THE WORST IS IN THE ANSWER, TO IT'S GREATEST PROBLEMS. FOR THE BEST RESULT'S. GREAT WORK GENTLEMAN..!

Looks like it could use some side airbags, the driver dummy smashed it's head against the side window.
