Custom sprayed for many years pulling a 500 gal sprayer in the field at 15 -16 mph
Everybody that saw it was amazed how many years and fields it covered and just kept going.
1989 Chev 2500 w/ 350 TBI /4 speed manual
Neighbour borrowed it to haul cattle with my big gooseneck and blew the motor. Never even let me know he just parked it.
For some people nothing is reliable as you need half a brain and some level of maintenance or you can roast anything.
My Dad's Dodge 2500 5.9 Cummins had to replace ball joints every year even though it stayed on the road...he spent 4K upgrading the fuel system and the truck had 80K kms.

Of the LS based engines the ol’ 6.0 vortec takes the nod for me. I have had many with service body’s for work that I had to beat the snot out of and over loaded but they all went 300k miles and got traded in. The highest miles on a 6.0 vortec I’ve seen was a Chevy express 3500 box van and the thing had 564,000 miles.

The bigger issue is modern trucks have less room under the hood to work. To much tech to brake. How do I work on a twin turbo Toyota v6 with no room under the hood

I’ve got a 7.3 and just wanted to say how well it’s ran and the previous owner had taken it to Alaska twice and Texas at least once from Montana. I’m happy to see it on the list. Make a video for your favorite mods for your trucks please.🙏

The 6.7 Cummins is garbage, ive had 3 buddy’s blow there’s up at less than 150k miles. Literally the cheapest built dog shit ever made. I drive a 97’ Powerstroke with 319k with the original engine and trans, not to mention my 6.0 “unbulletproofed” has made it longer than any Cummins I’ve ever seen. Sick of these dodge fanboys and their garbage trucks 😂

if you wanna know what trucks will run forever you need to pay attention to middle east news and ask yourself what truck appears in every war every battle and every mission, the truck that get hit by a missile and still runs, the favorite of every terrorist organisation out there, but also every government. no it is not a ford, it is not a dodge, it is not chevy it is a TOYOTA.

Re the 6.7 Dodge/Rams. The 6.7 was first available in 2007.5, without DEF and the rest of the emissions package. They were the Third Generation body style through 2009. I’m running a 2008 3500, Mega Cab, with the Laramie package. I’ve got a little over 250,000-miles on it, and expect it to out live me.

I sold fords back in those days and a 94 was NOT a powerstroke. The 7.3 powerstroke was not available until mid year 95 so a 95 and a half.94 ford diesel was actually one of the worst diesels for made thats why then started running the international 7.3 powerstroke.

cat eye chevy half ton was best and last of the chevy half ton line. early 2000s till end of cat eye, chev had best half ton (coming from a ford guy) good mpg, power, look, ride etc. dodge and ford half ton in late 90s to mid 2000s were garbage. 7.3 for diesel was a torque monster and only reason id argue with chev or dodge is 1. had more power than chevy diesels at the time and the rest of the truck (compared to dodge) was far tougher. when dually part came up id say its close depending what youre looking for, by that era it is still more or less dodge and ford with highest spec but atleast ford built their own motor, stronger transmission and rear end and rides nicer
