1.) I play hardcore so i normally get barter to 70 or so at some point for the half weight of ammo and other small items.
2.) I like to pop into lonesome road at the start of a run so ED-E gets his weapon repair and ammo crafting upgrades.

if I'm feeling spunky I get the sturdy caravan shotgun some pulse slugs from the mojave outpost and clear thru to the marked men and try and snag a sniper rifle from their corpses.

Don't really see the point in the armor, its expensive and no way to repair it, the commisary with its 6000 cap limit and refreshing every time it goes under 150 is worth while though.

I think you might go in there and grab the nail gun, because the nail gun is WORTHLESS For lonesome road. but maybe useful at the start of the game.

if you get the pulse slugs you can loot alot more of the base at least.

For the honest hearts method I got the desert ranger combat armor in a lil under three hours and thirty minutes w a final level of 7

In the USA, to be called a city, it needs at least 1,500 people. Primm might have 1/100th of that. A town is 500-1,000. This would be a Hamlet , a Town has 500+ people and has a government. But I can't remember if it just "has" a sherif or more.
lv 2 is basically lv 1, so shouldn't the title be get riot gear at any level between 1-5

Barter is great till 70, then useless.

Packrat is God-tier on Hardcore and can easily grant more carry weight than Strong back.

Ammo weight is no joke, also grabbing the spiked nuckles from Prim helps big time with low level Lonesome road.

Brilliant! I stupidly didn't buy the ultimate edition with all the dlc stuff. But I will do this for my 2nd profile run.

Dynamite does a surprisingly lot of damage to sentry bots. I'm pretty sure you can do like, 2 hits and you blow the damn thing in half

I once played New Vegas and started Lonesome Road immediately. I went in as a level 1 dweeb and came out as a level 17 killing machine.

It was good fun, very hard at first, but Lonesome Road supplies you with so much high-level gear that it got fairly easy near the end.

The rest of my play through was stupidly easy.

Barter is a perfectly fine stat. Especially with all dlc installed, buying all the unique weapons costs an insane amount of caps. Even if you get all the gold bars out of the sierra madre it's not enough to buy all the weapons without barter.

I did something similar in one of my runs, except I just pocketed one of the Marked Men's armor sets and used it for the rest of the game.

I always play on hardcore and choose barter for pack rat at level 8.

You can use the nail gun to kill things here at level 1 and make it to the other side. Get password to armory on the other side and get a free one. You just need to buy some nails in the commissary

Im level 6 and i got the elite riot armor it was pain to get it.

I did this years ago in my 2nd playthrough of this wonderful game. I really did it for the way the riot gear looks because I love the trench coat. You made this look so easy, I had a hard time when I did it but it was totally worth it and IMO the only armor that looks better than this is Randall Clark's Desert Ranger Combat Armor but that is buried pretty deep in Honest Hearts so it's way easier to get this armor early on first. Thank you for this streamlined way of obtaining this armor early on as I am thinking of another overdue playthrough of this amazing game on my GTX 760 rig I miss playing on.

Pack Rat perk makes barter worth it. Plus the great amount of barter skill checks.
