He was saying it in the context of how she's so good at keeping in touch with people, so he was saying that she takes any free moment she has (ex: when she's putting her makeup on) to give a loved one a call. Not wearing makeup FOR the call, but calling and chatting during her makeup routine.

It's definitely a weird compliment, kind of makes me feel like she doesn't know how to be alone in her own head for a bit since she can't even have her putting on makeup time without social interaction, but I'm a massive introvert so it's probably not right for me to judge.

Personally I’m someone who listens to lots of audiobooks/podcasts while driving or doing chores (I was listening to this while vacuuming), so I interpreted Bezos’s line about his wife’s makeup as meaning “Whenever she does something simple or mindless or unsocial, like putting makeup on, she calls people she knows and talks to them to pass the time.” That may not be true because he phrased it without much context at all, but that’s immediately what my mind jumped to

I absolutely agree regarding the cheating issue with you. Some people have more active libido, higher sexual needs than others and thats okay. But if you are finding your relationship unfulfilling (or not f. enough), your partner still hadn't signed up on a change to it. So maybe ask them first if they would be okay with opening it to more people. And if they are not okay, then you have differing needs that are not being met. No amount of secrets and cheating is going to keep that relationship alive. In fact, it just going to destroy you faster. Because you just demonstrated that you don't actually give a damn about staying with them.

I have some insight on his son that’s currently in college from a family member that lives in his dorm hall. Apparently the kid is severely depressed and reclusive. I feel for him.
