ОтветитьI'm 38 years old, this song is part of my life soundtrack. As I get older, the more I learn to appreciate the basslines of this song.
ОтветитьLove is better when it's gone
ОтветитьUnderrated
ОтветитьWho is still listening to this 2020
Ответить2020. American Pie brought me here
ОтветитьLove Tonic ❤❤❤awesome band !
ОтветитьLove is tragic, love is bold, you will always do what you were told
Love is hard, love is strong, you will never say that you belong
I don't when I got bitter, but love is surely better when it's gone
Cause you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
You wanted more
More than I could bear
More than I could offer
For a love that isn't there
Love is color, love is loud, love is never saying you're too proud
Love is trusting, love is honest, love is not a hand to hold you down
I don't know when I got bitter, but love is surely better when it's gone
Cause you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
You wanted more
More than I could bear
More than I could offer
For a love that isn't there
I gotta pick me up when I am down
I gotta get my feet back on the ground
I gotta pick me up when I am down
I don't know when I got bitter, but love is surely better when it's gone
Cause you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
You wanted more
More than I could bear
More than I could offer
For a love that isn't there
You wanted more
More than I could learn
More than I could offer
And if only you would show
You wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live
This song remind me of american pie..

ОтветитьDecember 2020 Who's still listening ???
ОтветитьI know I'm not the only one who misses turning on the radio to 90's music like this playing... now, I know exactly what the lyrics mean 💌
ОтветитьLuv is better when it’s gone
Ответить"I don't know when I got bitter, but love is surely better when it's gone" - I could have that tattooed, it hits so close.
ОтветитьI don't know when I got bitter but love is surely better when it's gone
ОтветитьClass of 2000 forever!!
ОтветитьAmerican Pie 🍮🍎
ОтветитьHmm.
Has a Thin Lizzy tinge to it.
It blows me away that this was originally written for a raunchy teen comedy. It goes to show just how far music has fallen since the 90's / early aughts.
ОтветитьThe line about love being better when it's gone hits a little harder the older you get
ОтветитьThank god for the sirus 90s station.
ОтветитьY'all are stupid
ОтветитьThe Church. Fields of Mars
ОтветитьI was 9 years old seeing American Pie in theaters (shout out to my sister) and this song was EVERYTHING
ОтветитьWasn’t this song from American pie
Ответить« If You Could Only See » was definitely their big hit, but this one has never not hit me hard. Predating this, I lost my dad to what I call these days the Karen Empowerment version of the Asian Subjugation Fetish. Then I was Replacement Husband (they weren’t married, but that’s what that specific kind of mother-son abuse is called) when this came out and ever since, I’ve only ever had racially motivated abusive partnerships and even decades of racist “””friends””””
There’s been no Japanese community and there was none for me and my dad to come here to. It was irrevocably destroyed in the criminalisation of existing while Japanese, which happened when he was a year old. Peers and teachers repeatedly even did physical violence to me, and coworkers since, to make me repent for WWII or because Asians are the true evil and the West never ever did anything wrong including actually kick off and really cause Pearl Harbour after some eighty years of buildup. And to this day, people deny our history and our own lives to our face and I have actually been forced to enter and stay in abusive relationships because of what would be racism except we’re not Real People, so I know I’ll get a deluge of hate speech for this and everyone will laugh at it because that’s just how the Anglophone world is. Society continues to abuse us. That’s why the only way to be safe for us if we don’t have communities of people from the same place as us with whom we can communicate is to live alone. I lost everything I’d build and gained massive debt eight years ago because cops and literally everyone thought it was hilarious that I would actually not want my ex-wife to kill me with a chef’s knife after years of making me sick and driving me to have to work so hard (because non-STEM Asians can speak 40 languages and have 12 degrees, and we’ll still be lucky to not be janitors and I have joint problems to begin with and social work is a bully pulpit) while she did nothing except make one meal a day of just pasta and salted bacon grease and blow money so fast I couldn’t let rent sit in the account at all that I wound up on a cane. I’ll never get my life or feeling of safety back. Or my dad. Trauma is a part of my personality.
When this song came out, I was already working and had my first abusive girlfriend, but the longer I live, the more abuse I get, and this song, that hit me so hard then, only gets more relevant.
❤💛💚💙💜

ОтветитьThis was the 90s ladies and gentlemen, beautiful
ОтветитьAmerican Pie!!!
ОтветитьThis song came out when I was a young teenager still being raised in the church. I had to wonder back then, after listening to the lyrics, if they were going for a more (sadly) realistic take on 1 Corinthians 13.
ОтветитьThat song was from the End Credits of American Pie (1999)
ОтветитьAmerican Pie throwback…the 90’s are missed.
ОтветитьLove is tragic love is Bold you will always do what you are told ain’t that the truth they were underrated
ОтветитьAmerican Pie, miss those times in the world.
