family visited me while at the "vending machine" and let's just say the embarrassment of that stopped me from playing it again. took some time to explain it wasn't one of "those" games

Mac I don't know whether you missed it, or whether it's been recently added but the game does have a FOV slider. Pathing still poor. Tearing and stuttering not great with 6950XT. 1% Lows pretty bad in open areas I think but stil enjoyable at all Max 1440p.

I am having problems with controls. It ignores non US keyboard controls especialy the number keys. which you kinda need for dialogues and of course weapon slots. I tried to override mouse scroll, it still uses switches the fucking weapons even tho I assigned it to next and prev consumables...

I'll say this. his bit about xray vision isn't totally accurate. I'm well into midgame and i've rarely used the glove scanner thing. most of the time i forget it's there, not needed. Even the few times i did use it didn't understand it, figured it out on my own. The rave music in the puzzle dungeons (testing grounds) has been my favorite.

Worth a buy has all my respect because the guy (wish I knew his name) is not afraid to say it like it is. If he gives a game an 8/10 than you know this game is definitely 💯 worth it. I love this game. I loved Prey but the combat and world is even better here. If you read all the stories in the emails they completely got the communist mentality spot on. Love the original Soviet cars too. Adds to the nostalgia. I grew up in a former eastern block country. As for the main character in the story he often swears and is as blunt as worth a buy. Love it.

In the update I think they took Xray off.

They added a FOV slider with the 10th of March update!

Atomic Heart has been a pleasant surprise for me, I was very skeptical about it from watching the trailers and didn't give in to the hype, but the game turned out to be very fair to what it showed in the trailers and even more. Also its a rare example of a game that works properly on day 1, played on Ultra settings and rarely seen dips below 60 FPS in outside areas on my 3070ti. Only had a single freeze and a single crash through 30 hours of play, didn't lose much progress as you save fairly often. 95% of puzzles are super easy, not sure why people have problems with them, I only had few moments of confusion in late game polygons, but still figured them out fairly quickly. Endings are lackluster unfortunately, hope DLCs help with that. If you like shooters, don't spoil the story and play the game yourself, its GREAT.

Classic immersive Sims like Half Life, Fear, Dishonoured, Prey, Bioshock and Portal come to mind when watching this. Looks like you have big open areas too. My kind of game! 😉👌

I got prey but never played it, and I just started it a week ago. Its a lot of fun.

Before watching the video: i didn't like that the way to win each encountered was just stunning them to death.
Stun, switch to your other stun, let your stuns cool down and repeat.

I had fun, I'm playing again with just melee.

I just finished this game and was super impressed, Mack's review nails it. Completely fresh game in terms of IP, story, gameplay and combat dynamics.

This is an unbalanced slog. All enemies are miserable to fight, and bullet sponges. Thier bullshit super attacks that come out of nowhere are irritating, knock you down constantly. The non stop enemies respawn is bullshit, and the usual alarm crap is here. All open world have to have a bullshit alarm now. They don't want you fighting enemies because if you kill one, they call in never ending spawns. This game is miserable.

This is a rant because I was mad about the save bug, actually I think the game is pretty good. Don't believe this nonsense I said down below, there is definitely problems with the game, but I do enjoy very much now.

Now that I have the chance to try this game I have to say:

It's completely garbage, at least in this form. When they fix the problems, then it becomes a generic bioshock/prey copy without soul and originality.
The only unique thing here is the pervert vendor machine which also pretty cheap lets be honest.
Let's not even mention the story, characters and world-building are so bad/generic, why even bother to play this game?
