As an RX 6600 user, I was happy that FSR 3 and FG were coming.
Ответитьhehe std hehe
ОтветитьOne mistake you've made: LG OLEDs allow only a single input to be set as PC, and just doing that even without game mode low latency turned on has a drastic difference in input lag comparing to not setting the input as PC, hope you fix it in the future, cheers.
ОтветитьYT at double speed lowers the FPS of the video to 30 FPS and you see at 2x speed 60 FPS. If YT had 120 FPS at 2x playback, then you would be able to upload a slowed down video and we would see 120 FPS at 2x speed.
But that's not the case.
Forspoken max settings 1440p on RX 6950 XT witch frame gen feels very goood, in normal game i don't notice any suspicious latency and artefacts
Ответить23 minutes of 💩 bullshits. Just tell us in short.
ОтветитьHeads up, Daniel: The judder in the Forspoken footage relative to the Immortals of Aveum footage may be related to the fact that your GPU was fully utilized in Forspoken but not in Immortals of Aveum. If you can control for that (perhaps by testing at 1080p), then it should produce better results.
ОтветитьI was so excited for frame generation. I actually really like that "soap opera effect" that people complain about in TV's and i expected frame generation to be something like that, but when i got a capable Nvidia card i realized that i wasn't missing out on much and the game looks and feels smother when frame generation is off, even if the counter says that I'm like 10 fps lower.
ОтветитьWith it being amd will fsr3 trickle down to ps5 and series x/s? I remember hearing that they use fsr2 but I could be wrong
ОтветитьYou gotta get a kvm from level 1 techs my man
ОтветитьThe kid on the background hahahahaha
ОтветитьI’m amazed how with all the talk about v sync lag and frame gen lag and the benefit of reflex, how responsive it is to play with fsr 3 frame gen on, hitting the v sync limit of my monitor sans reflex on my nvidia gpu. So much for ‘mah latency’
Ответитьbut if the monitor says GSYNC.. .you have vsync on? about dlss and fsr, when I play in VR and the game supports both, the FSR gives me visible ghosting, while the dlss gives me a softer image (which is bad in some games, and great in others)
Ответитьsuch a great job man... thanks ! :)
ОтветитьOne thing I noticed especially in Forspoken is that at high movements and especially small objects FSR3 doesnt have the same ghosting and artifacting that DLSS has. Also btw, Forspoken has garbage optimisation, and I experience a lot of the same issues without FSR
ОтветитьI have been enjoying your videos lately (thoughts), the very first videos I saw from you didn't really land it for me. Regardless the topics you talk about are interesting to me.
A couple of months later, here I am curious about your opinion.
You are doing a great job, and I am another one of bunch who thinks the same.
vsync must be off...because artifacts
ОтветитьFS3 > DLSS3
ОтветитьVsync with no freesync to use fsr3. Tf outta here AMD. Always hoops to jump through. So glad I have a 4080 because my 7900xtx was DOA.
ОтветитьYou should do those A/B comparisions in a blind test. Let your wife/kids change FG settings and you have to guess if it is on or off and tell which you like more without seeing any frame counter.
ОтветитьWhat software do you use on screen to track CPU and GPU usage?
ОтветитьCan we use them both at the same time?
Enabling frame gen in game and turning on AFMF on driver level?
I understand it will have 2X latency but wondering how it might work!
how can you have both 12gb AND 4.8 gb ram?. same for the graphics memory
ОтветитьThis is worse then a side by side imo, thanks for trying though.
Ответитьwhat is this game?
ОтветитьBest tests
ОтветитьWhat monitor is it?
ОтветитьYou're testing a very bad implementation of DLSS3 FG. Probably the worst.
ОтветитьYou should definitely just link the video inputs to shortcuts by just holding any on the number buttons then you hold the one you assigned it to and it'll be faster then going threw input screen lmaoo
ОтветитьI've got a 3080, watched some other of your videos on FSR 3.0. Without knowing too much i tried FSR 2.1 on CoD MW2. NGL that experience is great, can't even imagine how 3.0 improves things. DLSS was a** when i tried it a while back.
ОтветитьPeople are saying that if you activate the frame limiter within Rivia Tuner, the frame time and fluidity within the game will be back to normal, smooth. Just set about 10 fps less than the average after you have configured it the way you like. So for example if in the native it was giving 40 fps and with the fsr3 and frame generator it goes to 120, you go to Rivia Tuner and limits it to 100 or 110, or to your monitor fps, which will cancel out this lack of fluidity that you are feeling.
ОтветитьHello Daniel, I figured out the issue with Forspoken camera stutter! You have to use Vsync in Nvidia control panel and turn it off in game! That is where the micro stuttering is coming from. Once you do that, it will be buttery smooth!
ОтветитьFor me the experience was bad in Forspoken. Arguably I forgot to disable freesync (not sure that was the problem), but although the fps went up, it felt like I lost half of it :)) I have a 6750xt
ОтветитьSo do we think RT will be viable for AMD gpus with fsr3?
ОтветитьGreat video! I hope you reach the million subscribers soon.
ОтветитьThe thing about FSR 3 is that in order for it to work best it needs to be implemented properly mainly by the game devs due to being a purely software solution while trying to use a gpu's shader modules. DLSS on the other hand is a pure hardware solution due to proprietary optimized Tensor cores. For this reason, DLSS and even XeSS are easier to implement in games while also being FAR superior tech.
Thats the bottom line.
Edit: I still think upscaling on any fast modern GPU is pretty much pointless.
The xtx only needs this if you want all the RTX options on CP2077, other than that no other game needs it on.
ОтветитьIt's cool. Personally won't be using it till the visual quality is equal to native of better.
ОтветитьKinda makes me feel better my screen DOESNT have those high refresh rates. Is this where we have moved to as game enthusiasts?
ОтветитьIf you want a good example of the actual, tangible impact of latency, people have done the maths and graphs for 30 vs 60 vs 120 FPS in racing games at 120 MPH in Forza discussions, since the game is going to be locked at 60 for multiplayer. It's a demishing returns thing, and it's clear why AMD wants you at 60 before turning on frame-gen. For high-end competitive players, it will matter, but for single player stuff, especially, getting to 60 before you have robot-dream frames should be golden.
Ответить@danielowentech I think, at least for me with a 2070 Super, that you have to disable VRR on your monitor or tv in order for it not to cause issues in Forspoken. I was having the same kind of issue with gameplay being stuttery with FSR 3, with v-sync enabled. I finally decided to physically use my monitors menu and disable VRR on it directly. After I did that, the game ran smoothly with FSR 3 enabled.
ОтветитьWhat monitor is that?
ОтветитьDaniel got a horror movie sound effect with the kids running upstairs lol. Hilarious!!!
ОтветитьFrame generation makes me happy because no more flickering for those ~ 60 fps games
ОтветитьIf one game works great with FSR 3 and frame generation, and the other not,
then it the fault of that game, and not frame generation.
I'm sorry but this sounds dumb to me. You're already getting in 80-100fps native right? Why in the world would you want to turn on some extra bs that helps this but hurts that?
It's like prescription meds, yeah you don't a runny nose anymore but you have high blood pressure, blood that won't clot, bloody diarrhea, early liver failure and onset of dementia.... 🤔🤷
