Episode 010 of live composition session for The Televisual Memory Of Our Lost Futures - Premiering May 31.

I am doing these sessions to give a flavour of the live, improvised sections of the work. No two versions of the live presenting of this work will ever be the same, and some will contain completely new, original improvised soundtracks like this.

For the musical component, I am aiming for a blend of structured motifs and sound design with spontaneous composition.

INFO:

'The Televisual Memory of Our Lost Futures', the newest creation from Sydney's Jesse Chard-Perez, a.k.a 'The Vidiot', is premiering thanks to Infinite Dreams. Get ready to experience this hybrid-media work of art!

After a two-year stretch of delivering his blistering video performance works to underground audiences around Australia, including performances during Hobart's Dark Mofo Festival, Jesse returns with a new performative/dynamic film work featuring a live music soundtrack.

The Televisual Memory of Our Lost Futures is an exploration into the notion of televisual nostalgia and its effects on our mental states. It delves into why we often feel a need to return to the past, with its familiar and comforting views.

This project seeks to create a vibrant blend of performative documentary (Think Adam Curtis' BBC films), video art and textural generation by combining dead-media, lost broadcasts, AI visuals and modern generative film elements.

This work is crafted to be one-of-a-kind and have its own unique elements each time it is performed, so no two performances will ever be identical.

Jesse will draw inspiration from various musicians such as Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Art of Noise, Nils Frahm and Max Richter to create music with a unique and captivating sound.

Jay Katz of The Mumeson Archives in Sydney highly values Jesse's work as it offers a captivating exploration into our collective nostalgia.

“Jesse is a visual and musical genius that sits hidden in the static of Sydney's plain sight. This work is an avalanche of hauntologic expression, and the premiere of this new work is not to be missed"

Joining Jesse on stage is the incredible Hubris Blindfold from Sydney, Australia, who specializes in coldwave/hauntological music. They will be creating atmospheric soundscapes inspired by past memories and experiences.

Don't miss out on the grand premiere of The Televisual Memory of Our Lost Futures, which will be held at an exclusive Marrickville warehouse. The venue details shall be disclosed on the day of the event.

Tickets are limited to 100 for this event.
