Also, medium gauge wire (rolled up) is fantastic for shelters, joining things together, hanging things over fires and anything else you need wire to do, it's better than Paracord for certain tasks.

Great video. One item I encourage people to consider for a car kit is (in the US especially) an old cell phone that can keep a charge. By law, all cell phones that power up, SIM card or not, can still dial 911. No subscription plan is needed. If your phone is lost or stolen, it may become a great option.

I watch all these bug out bag videos and not 1 person has a bow string. When you need to hunt without giving away your position, a bow is going to be a life saver. Even if you need to defend yourself.

Don’t forget a sharpie for your med kit to write down on the person when certain things happened (ie: when they were found, to measure growth of a bite, when a tourniquet was applied, etc). Just something from my military training.

I have to drive a great many miles during the winter and getting stuck in BFE in a snow storm is a real concern. A 5-gal bucket with a gallon of water, clothes, sos rations, first aid kit (need to learn more on that), and a ham radio sounds like a great start for me. Need to do that before winter.

One item that was handy for camping out in the bush for a few days was a common small gardener's weeding fork with twisted hooked tynes, not flat tynes which bend when hot, fitted with a substitute longer handle cut from an old broomstick. It was useful for raking coals open to cook a damper, opening a coalbed for a camp oven and for raking back over, toasting a slice of bread over a very small fire, lifting food cans out of a hot ashey firebed. If you are seriously into HF transceivers, a quarter-wave dipole wire antenna can be made out of a wind-up power cord reel, with a divider between two rolls of antenna wire. The antenna is tuned by how much of the wire is allowed to roll out. The end insulators were synthetic braided cord or rope used to tie off onto tree branches. Porcelain egg insulators would be best for all weathers but cut-off pieces of PVC pipe or synthetic cord was mostly fine. For receiving only, a wind-up power cord with all conductors linked at each end will do as a longwire antenna.

Gel hand sanitizer can be used for sanitation, fire starting, and as a cooking fuel. Same thing for rubbing alcohol. They are practically giving it away in 2022.

We have a small tablet with all the books of first aid and maps of the area we live in up to 1000 miles away and plant identification. It is all downloaded so no connection needed and we have a backpack solar panel that can recharge as needed. It weighs nothing compared to even 1 book but if it craps out on you you are out all that information so we are thinking of getting 1 for each bag that way 1 is none 4 is 3 lol!

You will one day stand before God and answer for everything you have done. How will you do on that day? Here's a quick test: How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you used God's name in vain? Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Have you had sex outside of marriage? Have you ever had, or been involved in, an abortion?

Will you be guilty on Judgment Day? If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, fornicating, blasphemer, adulterer at heart, and murderer, and the Bible warns that God will punish you in a terrible place called the lake of fire: Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Yet God, who is "...rich in mercy,..." sent His Son the Lord Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross for all guilty sinners. We broke God's law and the Lord Jesus Christ paid our fine. That means God can legally dismiss our case and He can commute our death sentence. John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life."  Then the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead and defeated death.

Please, repent of your sins and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift: Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

John 14:6: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

I always hear about heavy garbage bags, space blankets and tarps and even some rainwear. Most preppers/survival-types that I hear from are from relatively warm parts of the USA. Seldom is there anyone knowledgeable about northern regions like Lonny from "Far North Bushcraft and Survival" up in Alaska or Lars from "Survival Russia". Be sure to keep fire staring kit AND tinder wet-Proofed and on your person so you can't lose it in the event you lose your pack/gear (check out "possibles pouches").

Anything plastic/mylar wrapped around you will shed water, but it will also allow moisture to build up IN YOUR CLOTHING significantly reducing or even cancelling any insulative value. This can turn your "ha! I'm okay 'cuz I'm dry" to a life-threatening case of hypothermia pretty darned quick especially during exertion! This is 100% experience talking since I was inexperienced at the time and listened to the half-truth. Protect yourself, to be sure, but do not seal off fresh air flow to get rid of body moisture build-up. This is a mistake beginners make especially with space blankets. Remember, your clothes or other layers are the insulation; SPACE BLANKETS DO NOT INSULATE you from the cold or heat they are only a heat reflector! Keep it around you, but leave the front somewhat open to allow drying. Trust me, it works waaay better than a bag, but a bag is better than nothing until you can find or rig-up a shelter. I hope this helps. Greetings from Alberta, Canada.
