This is very motivating! I started doing 1.5 hours minimum everyday with my Sunday runs being longer and longer. I started doing this on January 2nd and I am committed to doing it all year long. I’m about 265 and I really want to get down to a healthy weight. A healthy weight for me would be 180.

2 hrs is my minimum training session, today I did a slow 6 hrs and last Friday I did 9 hrs but I'm training for long distance backpacking where I hike 12 hrs a day for 30 days. It helps being retired . . . long days that are 6 hrs long I don't even run. just walk hills. Short days I run/walk for 2.5 to 2.75 hrs Bering 70 years old I can run/walk a 10K in the allowable time. Maybe faster if I was on a street but I only train in trails.

46second 400m because not enough muscle mass. listen to sprint coaches and most talk about hitting big strength bench marks in the gym. simple but not that simple is a 2 minute bulgarian split squat hold if want to be a top sprinter. if got to that would have legs thicker than the average distance runner core.

I am thinking of signing up for a coaching service like Coach Perry. Would love to see a video about your thoughts on coaching programs and if you know of any that are good programs that are worth the money. I am in my mid-fifties and ran long-distance in high school. Through most of my adult life, I did not run much and when I did, it was short 3 to 5 mile runs on most occasions, until about 8 months ago when I decided to start running longer distances again. I have been running 3 to 4 times a week with one run in 15 mile range, two runs in the 10 to 13 mile range, and one 3.5 mile threshold run. This workout program has been working great for me as I continually get faster. I crafted the program after reading a few books about running such as 80/20 Running (I love Matt Fitzgerald books-they are amazing and the information is so useful). I would love to be able to run everyday, but I don't think my body could handle it. I try to do strength training and massage two days a week. I just wonder if a running coach could help me fine tune my training?

In both of my marathons I cramped up around mile 23, and now that I look back, I hardly ran over 2 hours. Only about 3 times when the weekend long run got long enough. I'm following a 50k training session (for a marathon) and i'm now running 2+ hours twice a week for 4 of the 12 weeks, and i can feel my legs getting stronger. Thanks for the confidence that I made a good choice, love your videos!

I was 238 when I decided to make a change. Now I’m at 198 and it’s been 1 month. The first week ease in to it maybe just start with 1 hour. The 2 hour mark will change your life.

Hi, i know this is an old video but I just say that im going to be participating on a ultramarathon 60k in my town nextmonth. I have been trying to train myself for the last 4 days doing 10km early morning run. I am no professional runner though i really like to trek mountains before covid hits, now that the restriction are somewhat low, im trying to get back to shape again to be more active. i dont want to win something or podium, i just want to atleast finish the race without DNDing.

Im slow my current pace is 7:1 at this moment, I planned to finish the race for 10hrs minimun with my current sorry pace but still i wanna finish the race. I have succeded to get 6-8km/Hr and planning to run a long run of 30km to check if i can sustain the said pace. If you guys have some advice to me please feel free to comment below. My race will be next month so i have a small window of training. I know this might be iresponsible of me but please understand.

I did steady state run training during an Ironman training block a number of years back. I had my best stand alone marathon time as well as a 5k PR because of that. I unfortunately got away from that type of running and haven’t been able to have the same success. So looking forward to getting back to that. Thanks for the video Seth!

Onya Seth. Will add 2 two hour plus per week in training for my fifth marathon in 2022. I love the satisfaction of finishing those long runs! Better than the one a week model and it makes a lot of sense. It’s all about adaptation right?😁

Running just got less fun....
I’ve now completed 4 full marathons and 4 half marathons. I’ve never had a plan. I run because I like it. Some days I don’t want to and I don’t. Most days I want to and I do. If I want to do a big run I do a big run. If I just want to run because I feel like I should I run as much as I set out to run. I make sure and finish my run and put in a good effort. Never worn a watch, or looked at a clock. Never had a plan or a schedule. If I set out to do something I do it. If I’m not feeling it I don’t bother, and I don’t beat myself up over it. This stuff in my opinion can take the jam right out of my donut.
