Body language, in terms of hand, body, arm, and leg movements have a lot more to say about one's emotional state.

It's just like actions speak louder than words. For example, if someone folded their arms, I'd usually associate that with defensiveness or displeasure. Even if one was smiling, yet folded their arms, I'd still be inclined to figure that they are feeling defensive or not pleased. Body language is the genuine form of expressing one's emotional state.
