So there is no option to use your local wifi when at home and connected to the same network? Every remote play has that and it's a thousand times faster. If thats the case a android tablet using your regular normal dualsense controller, especially mounted on a tablet arm, is vastly superior. Like you said, in bed is where you use it the most. Even if it does local connections and you just forgot to mention it. A laptop on a swiveling arm right in front of you and using a normal controller is way more comfortable. Plus you can pair all your bluetooth headphones to it for it, get a tablet and earbuds supporting aptx low latency and your'e so far beyond what this thing does it isnt even funny.

So pretty much Xbox wireless play except it’s just the controller on a screen

It's a decent accessory. It's impressive. My upload speed at my home is enough for it to be a solid connection as long as I have a good enough download and upload speed on a wifi I'm using on the portal. Worth the purchase.

If my phone cellular internet wasn’t bad I would get it I can’t even use remote play without it being laggy or disconnecting and it’s on 5G+. Us cellular I’m talking to you

The image compression is horrible I heard , it pixalets too much and it’s almost unusable

The problem is that the ps portal is connecting to the ps5 only when it’s in a WiFi
When I’m turning on my hotspot to the portal it just doesn’t connect
