Legend has it, that the first dog jumped because it smelt something so strong it physically couldn’t control itself. And all the others? Kept down for the same reason. But what smell is it? Nobody knows.

I'm actually curious did anyone conduct the following experiments.
1. place safety nets under the bridge, let them jump then bring the same dogs back up see if they would jump again. this would verify/debunk the suicide theory.
2. place items under the bridge with strong smell that dogs hate, at that very spot, see if they still jump. this would verify/debunk the mink scent theory.

Why don’t they put a net around it, it would make it a lot of fun for the dogs

Well I know how to prevent any more deaths… build a supplement to the bridge preventing any type of jumping or dumping. It too damn easy but no one will attempt it.😂

Some sort of futuristic device is needed, where the owner holds one end and the other end is magically attached to the dog to prevent it running away and hurling itself off the bridge. Someone needs to invent this unimaginable creation.
As for testing, take a dog with no sense of smell over the bridge and see if it makes a break for it (secured by one of these newfangled devices of course).
