Here's an idea, instead of people having to constantly dish out for more safety and security, costing them a fortune and causing growing restrictions simply raise the penalties for criminals. Raise them a lot. Keep them in prison. Why is it that innocent hard working people always pay the price to be safe? Time to make the criminals pay a high price. Change the paradigm.

High security doors are great. I have a solid core steel clad front door with a dead bolt. Just keep in mind that if the fire department needs to get in to save a life or fight a fire you are going to slow them down quite a bit if you don't provide them with a key in a lock box or another way in. Honestly the FD would be quicker going through my wall.

The staircase treadmill may be a good idea if you get too old and can’t climb the stairs anymore and somehow it can work like a real escalator.

So you spend $1,000 a year and in extra electricity to keep that treadmill running all night long, for the one in 50,000+ chance you home may be burglarized.
