So, my mate has the new MT10 SP with the akra pipe and you can still barely hear it. When we go out my 2010 speed triple is way louder even when the arrow pipes still have their baffles in. All that rubbish in the dustbin under the bike has killed the sound on new machines. The MT has a lovely intake howl, but the exhaust note is about a loud as a butterfly farting 🥲
ОтветитьI've had an MT10(160PS) for 5 1/2 years and I've also had an extended go on the new MT10 (166PS) and I didn't like the new model. In my opinion, they have spoilt the sound(not a noise) by giving it too much induction noise. Clearly the new model still has a horrible seat (which is why so many of us buy the comfort seat, which is lovely). I was ready to buy the new model, but I didn't like it and will wait for the next version.
ОтветитьForget choosing between these two. Just buy a KTM! 😊
ОтветитьSold my 2020 Tuono Factory to get the 23 MT10 SP and have no regrets as for me its a better street bike, more comfort, plusher electronic Ohlins suspension and very similar sounding engine that is electric smooth. Nice comparo as these are the 2 best super nakeds, get one Chops!😎
ОтветитьI much more prefer the quiet exhaust with good intake noise. My street triple had a very nice intake sound. The sound should be for the rider to enjoy not to annoy most of rest of the people. I am warming up to this sp01. Still I’d probably chuck a lower handle bars just for the looks and a bit more sporty position.
Ps. This English breakfast during British summer brought some nostalgia and a good chuckle. I kind of miss it.
Every video. "20 stone fatt ee"
ОтветитьWomble has the nicest looking year of the Tuono. And that green wheel is the icing. While I’m sure the SP is a great bike, it has one of the ugliest front ends out there. Actually the ass end isn’t much better. Nice paint though.
ОтветитьI just can’t get past the looks of the MT10. I loved the old shape one. New one just looks like it is missing something
ОтветитьGood vid choppsie, i think the yamaha just has it on the lovely sound. Can i ask what camera inst 360 or gopro. Cheers mick. Stay safe.
ОтветитьWe've ridden both exact bikes recently, both are good buys, both are value for money. However, I'm not sure despite being in the same category that they're direct competitors, I think you either want a V4 or an Inline? Might be interesting to compare the new CF Moto V4's to the Aprilia when it comes!
ОтветитьThe Tuono is the best bike I've ever ridden and the worse bike I've ever owned 😂
ОтветитьI dunno man. Everyone loves the sound of em but I always prefer an in-line setup just screaming it’s nuts off
ОтветитьEverythine I turn the throttle well on my Tuono I feel like driving a Motogp machine, love it 😬👌
ОтветитьAs 23 Tuono Factory owner, it’s my first bike that’s not a Japanese I4, and it’s amazing. It has so much character and so fun to ride. The Aprilia V4 sounds are unmatched it’s absolutely amazing.
ОтветитьHow can you own a Tuono and not ride it for weeks. I'm 65 have Honda v-4 and ride almost everyday. Nice though.
ОтветитьThe M10 is a fantastic big brute of a bike and if you have three cheeks its much easier to enjoy - But the Tuono is a proper thoroughbred!!
Ответитьno blurring of that speedo ??? plod is watching
ОтветитьDid you mention Wombles.. on a test ride of a pretender 🤧 .. "think" back .. at Yamaha's cross plane crank concept .. big bang they call it .. then direct your attention to Ducati's V twin V4 go engine .. a bit above your head maybe .. Aprilia as good as it is came waaaay later with their 60deg v4 .. Yamaha's stuck with the cost of moving from straight 4 to V
ОтветитьMy Yamaha Diversion with dani moto pipe sounds good but the ducatik tuno sounds fantastic
ОтветитьRegarding the electronics of the Tuono keep calibrating these on a regular basis. Let's say every 1000 Miles or so to compensate for tire wear. By doing that you can ensure they stay consistant. The noticeable intrusive wheelie control will behave waaay better on level 1 after doing that I suppose. At least I experienced this issue and solved it that way. Level 3 is completly useless in my opinion :)
Ответитьyou will never make the full tank with the bike on the side stand.
ОтветитьLooks like you are having too much fun! Excellent viewing as always! 😁
ОтветитьOne of those tests that has to be performed by seat of your pants to really appreciate the difference between the two.
ОтветитьGreat video mate! Just out of curiosity do you know what many kilometres you travelled for the 8.1 litres of fuel? I would like to know what the mpg you got on it.
ОтветитьBest soundtrack ever is right! Love the sound of both machines.
ОтветитьI'm 6’4" ‚ slightly ageing now with a dodgy back and my 23 MT-10 SP is so comfortable. I change bikes as often as the wind but I'm genuinely struggling to think of anything else I'd rather have at the moment. ❤
ОтветитьWhat you forgot to say is that the tuono is 11000cc, and Yamaha MT-10 is a 1000cc. Yamaha is a far more all round usable bike in all conditions, City riding, commuting and of course going fast. Tuono is just going fast and come home. With the MT-10 you can tour the Alps for 20 days, no problem at all.. that is not possible with the tuono, without pushing yourself to the limit every day.
Then is reliability! Arguably Yamaha is a far superior machinery with excellent price through out its life. Italians are far from delivering a reliable allrounder.
Yes i know there are a lot of b..ters pretending they go fast on the Aprilia..you hear from them everywhere.
I picked up my brand new MT10 a month ago, full racefit titanium exhaust on after a week, 600 miles and break in service in 4 weeks and then remap tommorow marks week 5 of ownership. I was torn between the MT10 and Tuono however I’m also a 20 stone fatty and the MT-10 just fit me like a glove. I think if you have either in your stable you won’t be unhappy. The sound with the racefit on is brutal but as you guys touched on it’s a symphony, it doesn’t lose the tone and I will genuinely never be fed up of it.
ОтветитьI am blessed to have both bikes now LOL and I cannot tell which one I like more. I like the MT-10 SP more for how comfortable it is. But the Tuono is simply a beast.
ОтветитьAh, I see you and Womble had a flinglish at the Beachside Cafe at Bowleaze Cove. Looks like you stopped short of the Belly Buster though 😂. Noice. That Tuono sounds glorious btw 👍
ОтветитьBrakes are still 💩 on the mt compared to much of the Brembo stuff that many competitors are now using, even on some of the Japanese brands. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge yamaha fan, I have an '18 mt10. Just using a good quality sintered pad makes by far the biggest improvement, EBC DOUBLE-H sintered is what I use. The biggest and best improvement on the mt10 is competently tuning or "flashing" the ecu. I literally thought I was riding a different bike after the flash. The only downfall is that fuel mileage goes from bad to terrible! I get about 25mpg the way I ride and I'm 63...lol. Just the price of admission on the Yamaha if you want it to actually run healthy. These bikes are absolutely strangled to meet euro5. They run SO lean, especially down low to mid rpm from the factory. Yes, the new gen are absolutely the same! My tuner proved it as he owns a new gen. When you remove the exhaust system on the new gen, you're looking at exactly the same engine. I bought mine with 1k miles on it for $9600, practically new. Another $300 for the ecu tune and I found a bargain on a Yoshimura 3/4 decat system for $600. 95% of the power gain came from the ecu flash, NOT the exhaust system. Exhaust adds a few hp but mostly just accentuates that beautiful music produced by the brilliant yamaha cp4! One hell of a bargain for one shit-eatin grin inducing machine! 150whp of pure jailbait!
ОтветитьThat Aprilia sounds amazing
ОтветитьCross plane crank motors have been around for a while but Yamaha and Rossi made them famous in 2004 winning the MotoGP championship on a manufacturers bike that only had one 3rd place podium the previous year. Yamaha made three motors for Rossi to test after January 1st as Honda would not let him ride the Yamaha until his contract fully expired. Vale picked the cross plan motor for the power delivery and won the championship and the first race on the M1. I loaded his M1 onto a trailer when I worked for Yamaha and it was like a feather it was so light!
ОтветитьAm saving abit more up money wise to make the swap but damm those italians are expensive... even for a 2016 model ull pay 13k euro. Till then my cp3 engine on my mt09 will suit me.
ОтветитьMt 10 too uppright riding position😩
ОтветитьTuono are bigger then the small speed triple rs
ОтветитьTuono feels more racey and a loot faster✊🔥🔥
ОтветитьAnyone who made it to the end will find there is no conclusion
ОтветитьAs MT10 owner, i find this title offensive. We no pretender we inline 4 crossplane engine not v4.
ОтветитьTuono V4, mapped with carbon Akra (baffle OUT) is the sweetest thing🫡
ОтветитьTwo great bikes, the Tuono looks better and sounds better though. Trying to decide on a hyper naked right now, I think Tuono is going to be it.
ОтветитьLike riding the v4 but that motor is wound up pretty tight, 16k miles on a tuono you should be replacing some pricey bits, they were not meant to last very long.
ОтветитьIt’s not pretend V4 it is inline CP4 so i do not understand your point. Please explane. Also i would ride YAMAHA all day than that Italian crap.
ОтветитьSeriously? I didnt think ANY liter bike uses up more fuel than an Empty Ten? That fuel pump must be screaming trying to keep up with those injectors! I can almost see my fuel guage dropping as I twist the throttle! So annoying worrying all the time if I'll make it or if I can keep riding with a group on less fuel greedy models. My MT10 really makes me appreciate my Tracer 9gt with its 50mpg (US probably 60 imperial idk)
ОтветитьI own a 2003 Tuono and almost everything changed in the current model except ergos as well as sound quality. Both are top notch for sporty riding. But then again the current MT-10 feels smoother/better rounded and therefore more usable on public roads. Very comfortable for what it is and it practically rides itself. Thx for the vid guys.
ОтветитьI'm loving my mt10, decat pipe just transforms the sound, don't even need to change the can then :D
ОтветитьI will say Exotic bikes have a feel and a character that is hard to duplicate but after a couple trips to the exotic bike dealership fixing electric Nagles the MT 10 with its Japanese reliability starts looking pretty goddamn good
ОтветитьLittle confused as to the comfort on the MT, LC said it's comfortable, the womble gets on and says he's sitting on concrete, before saying it's also comfy? How is it in reality? And over distance?
ОтветитьI'd put money on the average lifespan of the MT10 being longer than the Tuono.
Ответить
