The original american heavy cruiser was the first line I grinded and the Omaha was worse than the tier 4. Your review of it is spot on.

i want to play wow, i'm seeing videos for that, but for what i have seen it's a mess of balances in every patch just like aoe2, disregarding realism... also what is better destroyers or cruisers (heavy or light) to avoid the feeling of an arcade game, moving your ship whimsically or like the carriers that give you animations and moments to do something, instead of inmerse you in a stable depiction of seamanship (did i made sense?)

It would be amazing if you listed your tier lists, not many can look at the ship icons and tell easily

So what's the best line of Cruisers to grind for in order to work up the Tech Line?

With all due respect for the many years you have played this game, I have to say your opinion on the Dutch cruisers is so way off it's utterly ridiculous. Franky, I'm glad that the Dutch cruisers have been disrespected because that way more Des Moines, Petros etc, will continue to sail broadside to me and I will continue to laugh as I dev strike them at range time and time again. I've been accused of cheating at least a half dozen times by DM players by my deleted of them with one salvo. 283mm rounds are no joke.
Please keep scoffing at the Dutch cruisers. I enjoy getting those easy citadel flags. :)

IIRC years ago Soviet cruisers was my 3rd line.
Didnt matter what i did with them, chunk chunk ded, not quite as bad as old Aoba pre ijn cruiser buff(s) but far from the RU bias i had heard about and perhaps expected to much of. Often times I'd stay at range and kiting around in sort of figure 8's or stuck behind a rock as enemy pushed. Only resulted in a prolonged the inevitable. Frequently struggling to break 40k dmg even in mid to high tiers.

Sadly often being caught in cross fires, as my team turned and ran sgh.. or the other flank got pwnd and i'd be stuck in the wrong end of a pincer manoeuvre. Really far from enjoyable, apart from the time to target with shell velocity.

After watching this and the BB video, I can only conclude that sea lord plays a different game, because that's not wows

Yoshino it's useless for ranked I'm really sorry but your team need fast reaction, radar and survive cruiser so... Yoshino F tier BTW have you even try to play ranked at Yoshino? Slow torpedo and slow boat.

Finally someone talking bout it! I do not completely agree on such a low tier for Zao, but did this ship suffer the time in WoWS!.... It is still one of my favorites, but old times are gone. BTW i don't think it suffered as much as of decreased range. I use "legendary" upgrade on it. For me it's been a drop from 60%WR to 49% since greatly behated CV Update. I recovered to 51-52%, but I'm afraid this is it for the Zao with my set of skills. And i have about 3700 battles on it buy now... See... I never took interest in sniping style ships. Zao was always my "surprize mofo!" hit and run tactics cruiser. Wait for opportunity, close up, blast the opponent with whatever armament is more suitable, retreat using stealth. Sometimes (and it's especially satisfying for me) i just jump on an unsuspecting DD and take cover in his smoke. However today, with plenty of fresh meat taking part of a cancerous lines of a tech tree, Jap cruisers barely ever unspotted. And this kills WoWS for me for a most part. Atago and Takao refuse to drop as low as Zao, but every time i see a CV spawned i feel sorry there's no friendly fire in the game anymore.
I thought a lot of people hated this turn of events, but many are playing CVs now, streaming battles with scary fantasy squadrons that look like flying dildos. It's ridiculous what they have done to the game that originally looked so good and solid, realistic, tactics demanding. And now WG just moderates RNG in battles, so one of the teams erases the other one, gets cits outta of awkward angles and doesn't get burned by reds and all kinds of wonderful effects. And the reds give each other nasty "compliments" and state to opponents in chat, that they are in every way better than the rest of they team and sunk only cause the bastards beside them. But this way frustration of newcomers (while old players leave the game) is covered by the proud near 50% WR due to the fact of this manipulation. Especially "talky" ones brag when the same level of skill BB player swims carelessly into a salvo of accidentally launched torpedoes.... I am a real boy!!!
And still there's something that holds me in this game. Realizing there might just not be any other of this kind in a world?... Blind hope things will somehow change?.... Meh. I'm just getting old.
