I bought the msi b550-a pro. My first msi. Et was total dead on arrival. A light ans flimsy board. I'm disappointed. Back to asus.

Thought I'd throw out a current comment. I have a B550-A Pro, AMD 5800X3D, RTX 3090 Ti, and 64GB HP V10 RAM (XMP-2 = 3600MHz/CAS14) and two M.2 drives (one PCI 3.0, one PCI 4.0.)
Very stable running MSFS and any benchmarks I've run. VRM temps as reported by the motherboard are quite good. I did need to buy a PCI-e WiFi-6 adapter, so that added about $30.00 to the cost.
I'm really happy with this motherboard - especially for the $99.00 on sale price after rebate.

I'm having some problems with B550-A Pro. When using a nvme drive, I can't set my RAM to 3200 MHz - Windows shows 100% usage (nvme), and the computer is unusable. When I set it to 2133 MHz it works perfectly fine. This doesn't happen with a 2.5" SSD or a HDD though - with any sata drive there are no issues and the RAM is working at 3200 MHz. I've checked this with 4 different nvme's, two sets of 16GB RAM, and all possible combinations of sata + nvme. I even tried with a different MOBO - still the same problem. The BIOS and drivers are up to date, and the nvme's and RAMs are all compatible with the mobos. Maybe the CPU is faulty? It's a 5600X. Can't seem to find any answers online and I could really use some advice :D

Im looking for some thoughts and opinions on a couple of prebuilts, one has the msi b550-a pro with a 5600x liquid cooled with 16gb (2x8) ddr4 3200mhz ram and the other has an msi z490-a pro with an 11700 liquid cooled, 16gb (2x8) ddr4 3200mhz ram. Both are coupled with an rtx 3070. The intel system is $200 more but no biggie. Im curious as opinions on which motherboard seems better and which might be more upgradeable. Im not a hardcore gamer but a little quirky when it comes to my tech. Ive watched the reviews on both mobos and both seem like quality boards so it comes down to slots, peripherals and upgradability. I appreciate any help i can get.

Do you think installing a 5900x on msi b450 gaming plus max is to much for this motherboard, or there is no problem?

There's some new msi Desktop pre-builts using the Pro-VDM board with a 5800x and RTX 3080 for $2000 probably gonna get one cause theres no way to get the parts without buying a Pre-built for the foreseeable future.

Hi I bought the B550 A Pro and a 3900x with 64 Gigs of memory for my new build. I decided to get a Corsair MP600 NVME SSD for the boot drive but the BIOS or the Windows won't detect it on the first m.2 slot. The drive isn't faulty cos shows up on the second m.2 slot and works just fine. Can someone please help if there's any connection between the first GPU slot and the first m.2 slot making this happen or any settings inside the bios which needs to be enabled in order to get the drive working. Please help ?

b550 a pro right now for sure. right now costs 100 euro in Germany. bang / price champ. could easily run 5600/5800/5900x oc or 5950x little oc.

Very late comment so it might not get noticed. Why did you test the boards at different voltages and frequencies?

Not a single person mentioning that the water cooler has been mounted incorrectly? It should be mounted with the tubes down (Most are intended to be roof mounted) otherwise any air inside will rise and prevent optimal water flow. This makes this whole test pointless.

Hi all, anyone encountered problems in running MSI B550 tomahawk with Ryzen 9-3950X? I am encountering a lot of problems with memory running ok then suddenly only in single mode then again working ok in dual, again and again or red indicator for CPU error? Did you hear anything how to solve it? Bios is updated to the newest, memory checked with Mem Test on the same system as the problems occur. Two sets of different memory acting the same. Thanks for any info regarding that.
