Before I give it a go, I do have a question on tab about this. I have a 4TB Seagate drive and a 8TB Seagate drive, both are external HDDs (and the 8 being a bulky one) and they are acting up. My 8TB one is less than a year old and it's not working. I also have the 4TB one which was in use for quite a long time suddenly had just stopped working entirely, which is my problem now.
Can finding out if it needing an adapter part bring something back that lasted 5+ years?

I have a Toshiba HDD that doesn't turn on when it is connected. I already tried using two different cables, so I hope it's the same problem with the adapter, but I don't know which kind of adapter it is, and I don't want to risk my data being seen and copied if I send the HDD to a data recovery business.

Hey I was wondering if you could help me out. Idk if it's an Xbox thing or my hard drive. I got the Seagate Xbox 4tb hard drive. It used to work before. I will say 5 years ago. When I was using it on my Xbox one. Now that I have an Xbox series x. I connect it, it does turn on everything but the Xbox is not detecting it. But when I plug It on my computer it does. I had looked up online and many people have been having the same issue. What I found online says it's corrupted but doesn't say how to uncorrupted

What to do if the LED is on but the drive is not recognizing on any desktop or laptop? Sometimes, if it does show up, the drive shows up as and unidentified/unknown USB but I can't seem to access it in the windows explorer or disk management.
Any suggestions?

I have a seagate 4T external that uses a separate power source 10mm x 5.5mm. it used to fire up and sounded like a engine. no power anything anymore tho. thoughts?

Unbelievable! I thought they called it External hard drive because they using different mechanism it it!?!!! I didn't thought it was just normal SATA hard drive with adapter!

hello , i need help..my external hdd power light is not turning on..when i plug in or off, there is windows plug in sound... in disk management it seems as "not initialized " .. when i try to initialize it says incorrect function..
in device manager it only seems as jmicron device (which is probably adapter or sth)

Hi there! I have 2 pcs of external hard disk with the same brand and same model. Suddenly one of it is not detected and i noticed the light is there when I insert it into the port but the light is not as bright as the other model that work just fine. I know this case is not similar with your video where the light is totally dead, but could this method fix it?

I have hdd 500gb when i try to connect it i have a stable led .. but its not recognized by pc .. nor device management ..! Ita never falled on ground its just the sound like a fan .. i have this trouble since 2 years .. and i dont know what to do with my hdd please any fix..!
