ОтветитьRover sold the TATA Indica as the Rover Citica, though it was overpriced, and criticized hybrid press,it wasn't a bad car, just not as good as the competition.

Ответитьfirst of all Mahindra & Mahindra changed its name to Mahindra only.... Not to mention Mahindra Thar is still carrying the legacy of Willey's Jeep which JEEP company is unable to carry.
Mahindra Roxxer is doing best in the Offroafing category.

ОтветитьHow about ROXOR ?
Interesting 4x4 vehicles
I liked the Hindustan Ambassador. ;) It was (and probably still is) around a LOT as taxis and the like. It's a mini-limosine.
ОтветитьYour videos are informative , but you're speaking too loud into the mic with a strong Dutch accent, which makes it very annoying.
ОтветитьMahindra are actually selling their cars in the Australian market now... they're kinda pieces of junk made to look nice with shiny plastics and fake chrome but they sure are cheap. At least they're better than what China is offering these days
ОтветитьI would not buy a car from China if it was half price.
ОтветитьGreat Job AGAIN, Ed.

For China & India, in the last 10 to 30 years, there are finally Companies that can exhaustively test, AND DESTROY 20 to 30 vehicles per model in an attempt to meet FMVSS, US Fed Motor Veh Safety Stnds, Emissions, NVH (Noise. Vibration, Harshness), minimal reliability, & not end up like Kia / Hyundai initial engine issues, or major recalls. COULD if they wanted to & also burn the cash, that is.
Britain gave India laws & courts, trains & tracks. That's the thanks they get ?
ОтветитьYes, I would like an order of Chicken Madras & an order of Beef Vindaloo to go, please.
ОтветитьNo mention of the Bajaj Qute. Then again, the Qute technically is a glorified 4 wheel cyclecar.
ОтветитьI am surprised you didn't mention about the Hindustan Contessa which was India's first affordable luxury car of sorts from the 80s , the Mahindra jeeps which were widely used by the police for decades and people in the hilly regions since the 50s , the Suzuki Gypsy which was popularly used by the military and the Suzuki 1000 from the 80s.

ОтветитьWell, if you are buying a Jaguar, a Land Rover or anything designed by Pininfarina, my friend, you are buying an Indian car. Jaguar and Land Rover are owned by Tata, and Pininfarina by Mahindra. Yes, that Ferrari with Pininfarina badge is INDIAN!
ОтветитьIndia will buy Harley Davidson.
ОтветитьMaruti Yodug Limited not Maruti Motors. Now Known as Maruti SUZUKI India Limited. In India you can see 1985 Model Maruti SUZUKI SS80- 800CC Made in Japan Suzuki Engine cars still running in fully restored condition with Valid Fitness Certificate and also with Pollution Under Control Certificate, in India we are having Bharat Stage 6 Or Euro 6 norms implemented from 1st April 2020 and getting Pollution Certificate of an old car is not easy in India as all the old cars with valid fitness certificate are non polluting they are running in roads. But in Delhi-NCR more than 15yrs Petrol car is banned and more than 10yrs Diesel car is banned. Rest of India you can drive but with Pollution Under Control Certificate. I currently own a 1999 model Maruti 800 and my car is having all valid papers and she is running till date. Today also I went with her for a Sunday drive, car is fully unrestored with Original paint and Engine....even original Lights and lens.
ОтветитьInteresting fact about Suzuki Maruti.
Trough my work as an automotive engineer, I have lots to do with Indian Suppliers.
I often talk privately to the indian colleagues because I am interested in the culture.
One of them informed me about the sheer size of Marutis operations.
Suzuki Maruti regularly builds around 160.000 vehicles per month.
That is around 6700 vehicles per day(6 day working week).
This is comparable to Mercedes Benz, BUT Mercedes sells the cars all over the world.
Suzuki Maruti mainly sells the cars in India.
For example they reached an high in March of 2022 when they exported 26.000 units.
Thats an insane fact I think.
Some Marutis made it to the West. On my street in France, there was an old dragon lady of a schoolmistress who had driven hers all the way to the USSR for the summer holiday.
ОтветитьThere is not even 1 reservation with a car factory. That's all there is to tell.
Ответитьwe own 2 M&M tractors, pretty damn good ngl
ОтветитьThe Ambassador is such an iconic car for India that when I ask my Indian friends about the cars back home, the first one they bring up is the Ambassador
ОтветитьAging Wheels does a great breakdown of the failure of the Tata Nano. The rest though was news to me. I thought the raj period would have completely nuked any offerings but it seemed to be a boon to at least one company.
Ответить👍👍👍
