Plex Update: Plexamp Now Free for All Users! No Plex Pass Required!

Do you have to be online to use it? I need an offline player to play flac files. I currently use Roon, but with Roon you need a persistent internet connection or it doesn’t work.

Lon, this isn't a question about PlexAmp, but do you know if there is a good resource to help you interpret Plex (Media Server) log files and what steps to take based on different log file messages? I woud really like to know how to interpret the log files especially when something may be running slow or whatever. Does Plex have any kind of "Plex Log Files for Dummies" resource? And, if not, is that something you might want to cover (for a few of the more common kinds of error messages)? Thanks, and keep doing what you're doing!

2- Plexamp works well on the iphone, however what options we have to play music on AV receivers or Bluetooth speakers?

I have a collection of 5.1 audio cd's on my plex server, will those work in plex amp as 5.1 or 2.0 stereo?

Very cool. I bought a Plex pass years ago. I didn't know about this app. It popped up and works with Android Auto.

I love this app since i discovered it ive ripped most of my CD collection and have that and all my digital music on any device. Works with android auto and apple car play. I was able to cancel XM radio and listen to what i want commercial free. I hope they continue to develop this.

Plexamp is pretty sweet .. I have 60TB of FLAC music on my server I let it play 24/7.. i have more music then spotify locally 🤣🤣 99% of my pirated music came from Facebook private groups lol

Plex already leaked my data so I'm using Jellyfin now.

I have it sice ever but I dont use it cause its just redundant, there is no good reason why all this features are not in the plex app.

Does the app use lots of battery life? When I use Files by Google, the battery burns fast when I listen to music or watch vids. I currently use 1by1 as my music player on my phone, tablet & PC. It's great.

This is great for streaming at home. Locking the download feature behind a Plex Pass is a smart move since it will let you try the software first then decide if you want to pay for that feature. For my own purposes it will make things a lot easier since I currently have to use a file explorer app to transfer songs then a music app to play them.

Mine wasn't working. I updated plex and it said I needed to add plex permission for the system internal user, read/write permission for my Music folder. That fixed it.

I have a better audio player that can select one folder and it will automatically scan it into a playlist. I do not like the fact I need to select each song to add to the playlist.

If it still doesn’t play back local media, it’s worthless.

Does the free version of plex amp support music that I have saved on my micro sd card when using playlists? I have my own music stored on my micro sd cards and I have my own music stored in there own playlist. I use media monkey on windows to sync music to my micro sd cards to my android devices.
