Question we are catracts so bad that surgery is needed. I have catracts and AMD. They told me my AMD was my vision problem. But I knew six years ago about my catracts.

Whats your experience with Teleon IOLs ( Lentis Comfort) Bifocal sir? In my region they offer Teleon and PanOptic. I may consider Teleon on 1 eye and the other Panoptic. Whats your opinion Sir?

I am 70 y/o +6.25 hyperope in both eyes with moderate astigmatism in dominant eye. I am averse to potential halos with multifocals. Is J&J Eyhance extended monofocoal IOls (toric for dominant astigmatism) a reasonable compromise?

Is it OK to have a multifocal IOL in one eye and a monofocal in the other?

Having my first eye done in about a week. I was born myopic in both eyes with astigmatism. Developed Cataracts over the last few years, now at "stage 2". Worn glasses since age 8, more than 60 years. I researched both of the premium lenses first recommended. Not taking into account the cost, the "Premiums" do have trade-offs optically if you want to go without glasses. The first (to me) was that in low light conditions, the lenses will lose about 30% of the available light. This results in a dimmer, lower contrast image. Most report Halo's around bright lights particularly at night due to the optics of the lens. This drawback might not bother some, but for me I chose an Alcon Monofocal (Toric lens for the astigmatism), to be set for distance.
Cost-wise, out of pocket, after what Medicare pays, will be a total of $3600. Would have been $6000 for the Vivity or Panoptic.

Well I am going with both eyes Mono Focal "distance". I get the right eye done on Nov 6th 2024. I don't mind wearing glasses, I have worn them all my life. Left eye will get done two weeks later. No way I wanted to do Mono Vision (one lens near, other distance). That would be too extreme to get used to. I hope all goes well.
