Is the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser First Edition the KING of midsize SUVs?

The bottom line is that turbo 4’s should be for small vehicles… not a Land Cruiser, a 4Runner or a Highlander. The Land Cruiser is a big SUV that will be pretty heavy when fully loaded for such a small engine. Especially for people going on off road trips with all the gear required. It’s not at all fun going off roading with a turbo 4… I’ve tried it in a Wrangler and it sucks! You’ll be lucky to get 150k miles out of a large SUV with a turbo 4. People buy Toyotas to get 3-400k miles… not 150k miles. Putting a turbo 4 in any midsize or large SUV is just asking for trouble. If in the future all SUV’s will have turbos and/or hybrid 4 cylinders, then I’ll just start buying HD Trucks with tried and true reliable V8’s!!! Some of us don’t care about better fuel mileage. We just want a reliable engine that doesn’t sound like a lawn mower and doesn’t feel like we’re driving a tiny race car.

They need to quit showing it off an put it into production.

Hopefully I can afford the Land Cruiser. They really need to rename the model that’s under the first edition. Calling it the Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser model is confusing. So there will be a 1958 Land Cruiser model then the Land Cruiser ( Land Cruiser ) model then the FIRST EDITION model. Please rename the midrange model.

What happened to that 35k starting price. Now it’s mid 50k. By the time it comes out this will be a 70k car.

This thing has nothing to do with the legendary "Land Cruiser", just a tiny 4 cylinder vehicle with a rebrand Tacoma has topper on it.

Absolutely love the design Toyota has chosen for this! I know it’s pulling design cues from the Prado but the one thing I wish they kept is the split tailgate like my 200 series! Love having that dang tailgate living in CO!

the engine should have been a v8 , this turbo charge is not up to the mark .

Nice design, aspects taken from FJ. I'm waiting to see how this Turbo Engine does. For now, I'll stick with my 4runner.

Looks great other than the Knight Rider steering wheel.

Toyota is very smart, shrewd company so I'm really waiting to see where they position the next 4Runner because this is a new 4Runner in all but name. That said, it's going to sell like hotcakes.
