The Romans didn't found London, they conquered it from King Lud, hence the name London.

💥 The MOST interesting Financial Fact about the London Bridge project is that McCulloch and Wood actually made a huge PROFIT on this entire deal!! The bridge that you see in Arizona is only the exterior shell granite of the original bridge from London. You see in this video that when the bridge was rebuilt, they created an interior concrete core and rebuilt the exterior facade granite only. McCulloch then Sold the remainder of the granite stone to cemeterys for grave headstones and also the small granite memorabilia 'Pieces of the London Bridge' to many tourists, thereby making more money in the total bridge project than the total price he paid! You need to consider the Genius involved in the Highest Priced Antique purchase in History and you still make a profit on that Deal! And that is only the money they made on the Bridge, BEFORE the fortune McCulloch made on selling all the Real Estate of his new tourist destination, Lake Havasu City! You are all learning about one of the greatest modern stories of the creation of a new American city! And the Londoners who believed that gossip story about buying the Tower Bridge have No Clue about what a Great success this crazy dream has become!! McCulloch and Wood were brilliant visionaries!! 😂

When I saw a bridge with buildings on it in person for the first time (Ponte Vecchio in Florence) I was so impressed that started trying to rebuild the bridge in Minecraft lol. I'm so sad that bridges like this aren't built anymore, they're incredibly cool and the concept honestly sounds so futuristic, even though it's thousands of years old.

I love how humans like to build the biggest cities in unstable places knowing its going to be hard and still give a fuck and keep rebuilding instead of building somewhere else.
Mexico City is sinking since it was built in a lake and London is one of the biggest European cities and cant expand to other side but across the Thames... i love human engineering

Kinda sad that they weren't able to keep more of those old bridges with all the houses and shops and whatnot on it. These days, that sounds like something that would fit into a fantasy world, D&D maybe, Warhammer, or maybe a fancy version of it in Numenor, rather than something so normal, people would rather not go there as it was to congested. I know we have a handful left, but still, the idea of it seems so alien... (the only one I've seen in person is Krämerbrücke in Erfurt, which is a bit small to be honest)
