Yeah I'm not gonna lie, assuming Lakshmana was 1 years old and Ajay's dad actually murdered a baby, I don't really blame Pagan for cracking down on the insurrectionist group that now confirmed kills babies? I honestly believe everything he says, like "Used your mother as a spy, but we fell in love" and "I realized the Golden order was the issue after they killed my child" all kinda checks out. It's really implied that the Golden Order wasn't even considered an intense threat UNTIL that point. Pagan Min isn't a psychopathic Dictator. He's a Dictator who had his kid murdered by a terrorist organization, then almost had a step kid murdered vicariously by the same terrorist organization. I think I would have sided with him IRL too, partially because of the shock of the whole situation, but mostly because he just makes sense. If I'm at a Mob Bosses dinner, and my friend starts fucking texting people AT THE DINNER TABLE that dude is chopped liver as far as I'm concerned, at that point just too stupid to care about.

So nice of Pegan to let Ajay scatter her mother's ashes without any problem😌

At least in this ending the country is still ruled by a somewhat civilised man, instead of Taliban or Walter White

Tbh, if the officer didnt shoot up the bus and ruin our first impression of pagan min, this would have been the actual story

He is so broken.

Now that I think about it, everything in the introduction cutscene is just the game telling the player to try and get the secret ending.

1. The agent speaking on the phone saying that there's civil unrest with local authorities at war against the Golden Path.
2. Darpan saying he'll "do the talking" but does jack sh*t except for that one line.
3. Everything that Pagan Min does. His "particular with words" motto, him hugging you and apologizing the moment he recognizes you, telling you not to worry about anything and everything else. (He even keeps on apologizing to you even at dinner and in the secret ending cutscene.)
4. The song saying "should I stay or should I go".
5. The first room of the game not being guarded by anyone, albeit being De Pleur's compound. It says a lot on how Pagan Min actually wants you to feel at home.
6. He also leaves Mom's ashes with you instead of taking it with him as "insurance".

Probably the reason why this secret ending works so well compared to all the FC games that followed.

Bonus: On the cover of the game, the statue that Pagan Min is sitting on has these form on the hands. IIRC, it means "patience" in Indian myth or superstitions (can anyone confirm that please? thanks)

This game came out when I was in high school and it was my first far cry game and I LOVED IT. I literally just found out today about this ending, and even after all the hours I put in this game, I am perfectly fine with this being the canon ending. If Mohan love his wife, he will not risking his wife life, spying on some dangerous leader.. He will use another man or sidekick to spy on his enemy.. This is the reason why I agreed what Pagan saying..

i love this ending so much its just so simple and realistic you do what any person would do and just fufill your mothers wishs instead of going out to be rambo

this should have been an entire alternate game path. youd still have all the shooting and tower captures but against the rebels fighting alongside your dad(?)

Very smart dialogue at the end. Basically an analogy for "All out of your system? Actually listened and followed instructions, got the whole funeral plot out of the way? Yes, that's all very lovely, thank you, hoped you liked the Crab Rangoon. Anyways, this is Far Cry, so go back and do something else so we can start shooting guns and play the actual game."

I never got past the first region but still watch this intro from time to time, I love Troy Baker

I mean, let's be fair, Pagan is not a good guy. Drugs and whatever bs is happening in his country - it's not that good. "Shoot/stop" moment turns even the most innocent order into a damn load of problems.
But compared to him, the Golden Path is not any better. I pity the future country of "kill the Pagan" route that would either end up as a same, if not worse, drug nest or old-styled bs fated to perish. The justice of the Golden Path doesn't align with mine, might as well just stand aside.
So of all endings I prefer this one. If there was an ending where Ajay becomes third force, unifies everyone and makes a good country I would root for that one. Since there is no such ending, this is the best one.

I just want to know ajay’s backstory and why is he so godamn good at fighting they should’ve had more backstory for the character himself and not other npc

Now that I think about it, graveyards make no sense. Why'd you want to remember someone in such a sort of place. If you really love someone, make something beautiful like this.

So pagan is his real dad?

Can you play the game after you get this ending?? Like finishing some side quests and all?

The rest of the game should have been crushing those scruffy rebels and committing atrocities with best boy Pagan Min.

I think with Ajay join Pagan they can finally bring peace and stability to Kyrat although it will be some sort dictatorship but at least they can make the country more stable by getting rid of the rebels. Also, I think Pagan will give Kyrat rulership to Ajay at some point as he mention in one of the ending Ajay is the true ruler of the country so yeah. Siding with Pagan is not that bad comparing to joining the Golden Path.
