Once that was resolved, he of course could not wait to get the hell away from her.

This is not meant as a negative comment or put-down towards anyone, but I think Danielle would have been better off hiring a male escort. She would have received the validation through affection that she is desperately craving guaranteed, and it would have come at a much lower cost (to her finances and mental health). It would have been fulfilling a need without sacrificing much more than she ever imagined. It could have been light and casual instead of the added burden of yet another dependent.

Of course as ideal as that sounds I am unaware of Ohio laws in regards to sex work. It is quite possible it is unequivocally prohibited, in which case filming for television would end up incriminating her. In theory though I think this would have been a more effective and efficient remedy for her ails. At the very least she would have avoided these volatile and explosive interactions.
