I hate controlling the car with the sticks why could it not be designed as the same as the playstation conrol...i much rather would use the cursor buttons...nowhere near as good as tge ps2 format..i cant play tge game the way the game has been designed heregoing back to ps2 version switch control you cant even change to the old way

Just ordered it they said its much better now that it's been patched, but still more patches needed. I'm happy being alot older these are my teenage childhood.

Love how these companies put out a system then revise it with a new system. Then a year later make a new one, while that ones out for sale, another new versions being made!!!!!! I'm all set being suckered into buying multiple 350 dollar machines. My 3rd version is plenty fine.

I hate how the graphics in docked mode is so bad, 648p…really? Not even 1080p?

I'd be completely fine with less shadows and reflections and some lower textures in areas you normally never really look at, I just want the game to be 30fps.
FPS is not everything, but there is a standard.

So, as I got the original ones on ps2,

LOL, you guys must have played a different Switch game than me. GTA is awful as it is. The pop up is awful on all three games. Do you not notice the pop up in San Andreas? Compare to the originals.

Looks like there is also "dynamic pop-up", since the pop up is even worse than the originals.

I feel they would have had less issues porting GTA IV + Episodes from Liberty City.

People are crazy paying for these crap cash grabs, just get the original trilogy with mods from fitgirl seeing as you can't even buy them anymore.

Your reviews are great, so measured. I picked this up yesterday and I completely agree with what you've said. I can really see the potential and I'm willing to hold on for the inevitable update. But as of right now, it's really shabby.

I’m sorry, I gotta say it. It’s not whichever way you wanna say “San Andreas”. There’s a correct way and everything else is an incorrect way. San Ann Dre Yis. Idk how else to spell it out phonetically and I still feel like that doesn’t perfectly translate to how it’s pronounced, but it’s the best I can do lol.

Also the clip you showed when you were talking about cars popping in as you go for stunt jumps, the car didn’t pop in it literally just happened to be the worst timing possible, the car came from the right, behind a building, driving totally normal. I mean, let’s be real I’m sure it still “popped in” at some point because all cars obviously have to load in, they aren’t just CONSTANTLY driving around the entire map always loaded in at all times.

Also why do I keep hearing everyone say that GTA 3 looks the best and is worked on the most? It’s literally the absolute smallest GTA, with the least amount of Missions and side activities, and the least amount of mechanics. Of course it’s going to feel the best to play and run the best out of all 3. Idk why everyone’s assuming they worked on it the most.

Is anyone honestly surprised? I mean really? Rockstar has done minimal work to support legit players in GTA Online. But they have ZERO issues promoting the cash grab shark cards. Something told me to avoid this the second I saw it for sale. And I am glad I said no to it.

Funny thing. It's a lot like the performance of Lego City Undercover, which was the closest 3D "GTA-like" that Switch had before this.
And just like I enjoyed that a lot, I'm enjoying this too.
The issues are definitely far more tolerable on handheld, and just lying back with some GTA is nice.
But people who primarily played docked are probably better off avoiding this

When I played san Andreas, Cesar had 10ft fingers that flapped around hilariously. How did this not get noticed lol

I'll buy them when they're around $25. The graphical improvements don't seem that big, and they're still very ugly for today's standards, but they were all games I used to love, and I still remember how GTA3 blew my young mind when I played it for the first time in 2002.

One would think switch with comparable specs to xbox 360 and ps3 could run a ps2 game perfectly.

Think about how Switch can handle The Witcher 3 port, and what Rockstar brought to the table for those who preorder and bought it without any gameplay.

I can’t believe the state of this game at the moment, infact I suppose that’s what you get when you get someone else to do the port for you and not yourself. If you ask me it’s a quick cash grab.

Of course the draw distance is better in handheld mode. It has a lower target resolution.

A pathetic re release of fantastic games. Full of bugs, looks like shit. And classic music missing. Just bust out the old ps3 to play the originals.
