I'm kinda easy to get hypnotized and resistant to it
ОтветитьFull disclosure, I'm a hypnotherapist. I concede full bias on how effective it can be.
I'm pretty much on board with everything said in this video, minus the idea that certain individuals are more "hypnotizable" than others.
In my experience, we are all naturally very good at hypnosis. Getting the "10 mile stare", or daydreaming, becoming so engrossed in an activity that hours feel like minutes, and driving somewhere, arriving at your destination and not remembering many parts of the trip, are all examples of our incredible ability to focus within ourselves and heal.
Great video.
I have a question. Is it fair for me to resent my boss for secretly having a disrespectful perspective of me? She expressed herself at a hypnotist show. See, the hypnotist asked the participants to explain a complex philosophy they each have, and my boss talked about intelligence and hard work. She said she didn't believe that everyone was smart; that only certain people were while others were unintelligent. She also said that hard work does not always make people smart. She used my name as an example. She said some people were smart and hardworking, and thus were successful, e.g., in school. Some were smart but lazy and thus didn't manage what they could've. And finally that some people were hardworking...but not smart. She referenced me. She talked about how I was a slow learner at work, got things mixed up, and couldn't seem to do anything right alone. How she didn't think I could manage one-person shifts without someone to guide me. Especially after the time I set a wedding reception with black linens, not white, the official/usual color (though, in my defense black linens were used for most other events, so thus it was a natural psychological error.) She mentioned how I didn't have a driver's license and still lived at home with my boss in my late twenties.
The hypnotist, who seemed surprised by her comments, said, "So just to clarify, you don't think he has any honor or dignity in him? That it's a good thing he's loyal, hardworking, and diligent, because that's all he's got going for him? Just choices, not skills or brains?" And to my dismay, my boss said, "Yes, exactly." That hurt so much. So...do I have a right to be mad at her? She didn't say this consciously, let alone to my face, but she thinks that way. Even in private, I think that's disrespectful and shameless. Do you, guys?
Good presentation about hypnosis except for one point: relaxation isn't required! In fact, people who are engaged in active sports often move into hypnotic sports. Those who are victims of trauma are highly suggestible - first responders are trained in what to say to them so they don't input harmful suggestions. That being said, I work in clinical hypnosis so my clients do enjoy the relaxation benefits of our sessions. After 20 years of experience, I can say that hypnosis is an amazing modality!
ОтветитьMy grandfather is a hypnotist 😂 when we were little we would want him to try to hypnotize us- but we couldnt quit giggling. But he would help people around town with test anxiety and such before their exams ❤
ОтветитьFor me, hypnosis feels like it could be an altered state of consciousness. I mostly use it to relax, to help my brain slow down at night to sleep, and it feels like a state of deep relaxation and vague awareness that I can't achieve otherwise. There is an element of playing along, as any instructions that don't sit right will pull you out of it. As with anything else, if it's something you're interested in, it's something that's easier to do the longer you do it.
ОтветитьI've been hypnotised on stage before. Just a random guy. In fact I got invited after somebody got free tickets.
I put my hand up first because nobody in the crowd offered...
Dinosaur was the one thing that stuck. To this day. I was asked to act out a dinosaur. I immediately went for a s T-rex. My favourite... He didn't say what dinosaur. Lol! Any I now have a weird ability to spot when somebody is attempting to hypnotise me. And when others are being hypnotised.
Whenever I see a Trex, I have a good feeling. I forgot what he whispered in my ear at the end. But my life changed for the better. and whenever I see a dinosaur, I know I'm on the right place.
The hypnotist was Andre The Hypnotist. At Monte casino in South Africa.
Interesting, Thank you,
ОтветитьYou're so fast 🚀 that's why I didn't understood anything, may be 🤔 i should make u a turtle🐢 by using hypnotism, then i may get anything 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
ОтветитьMy🤯 brain is fascinated 😂😂
Ответить"I am getting very sleepy, and will send all of my money to the 700 Club first thing in the morning."
ОтветитьThis all sounds erudite and like a textbook description, but I've observed many instances of hypnosis, and it actually appears much more controlled and effective than this talk makes it sound. I understand that people vary as to resistance or willingness to fall under hypnosis, and still cannot quite fathom why so many people can go truly under its spell. I don't think I can be hypnotized, and it is not just because of an overt choice to resist it and distract myself.
ОтветитьSo basically no matter how much I want to do the thing suggested if I don't really want to be hypnotized it won't work? That's actually kind of cool and means people (especially those already resistant) who don't want to be hypnotized can't be or are immune as long as they want to be
ОтветитьI can't be easily hypnotized due to my ADD and mild aphantasia. My own thoughts drown out the hypnotists.
ОтветитьThe science behind this is also the science behind prayer, manifestation, and spells!
ОтветитьMe before : Hypnosis is not real, it can't hurt you
Me after I watched just one of those hypnosis video : I feel like what I said before was very, very wrong.
Nah, it’s not real. I just haven’t watched the whole video 😏
ОтветитьThank you for the guidance.
ОтветитьMesmer might have been wrong about magnetic fluid but seems like all these machines that scan the brain are reliant on magnetism so maybe there’s something there we don’t understand
ОтветитьYou'll actually find that 100% of people can be hypnotised but it depends on the hypnotist being flexible and good enough to do it.
If someone just sticks to the same script for everyone then yes, only 10-15% of people can be hypnotised but if the hypnotist understands enough and is flexible enough to be able to make changes on the fly and to be aware, as they should be, of the states of the subject then everyone can be put into a trance like state!
You talk too fast man. Slow it down so we can absorb it.
ОтветитьNice jacket
ОтветитьEvil people have used this method particularly MK ultra to brain wash people to have them do things against their will - to do the unthinkable evil. Many celebrities have been brain-washed
ОтветитьSo basically if your brain is resistant to hypnosis your just screwed in terms of wanting to be hypnotized.
ОтветитьThanks for info.
btw: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The 10-15% who are highly hypnotizable? Trump voters all.
ОтветитьCan someone kill a person if hypnotizer asks to do so? This thought frightens me.
ОтветитьMy psychiatrist wanted to hypnotise me for a reason I have forgotten. However, I told him I had no belief in hypnosis. He then said, "If you do not believe in hypnosis, then it is very unlikely you can be hypnotised at all." This leads me to think that hyypnosis requires a certain level of belief in the technique for it to work. I guess it is like the placebo effect, mentioned.
ОтветитьIt not dangerous?
ОтветитьI love how they talk about psychology as if it were a real science. Psychology has always been funded by the United States. While germany and the soviet union always supported more the hard and exact sciences, than the pseudoscience of psychology.
ОтветитьI have been hypnotized and it’s real it’s such an amazing thing! It’s a very unique feeling
Ответитьisn't hypnosis is what LGBTQ is doing to our kids
ОтветитьIt’s thought that the man who was arrested for shooting Bobby Kennedy was hypnotized by the intelligence community. Look into it. There may be more to mind control than the government wants us to believe.
ОтветитьMichael is handsome
Ответитьyou also look like wilbur robinson
ОтветитьCan you speak a little slower and less excited? It was not at all relaxing.
Ответитьi wonder if theres connections of this and ADHD
ОтветитьNever been hypnotized but wanna have it done to help with PTSD, anxiety, and a few others.
Ответить????
ОтветитьAm i the only one who noticed that this guy doesn't blink as if he's hypnotised
ОтветитьYour presentation is quite average. What makes it less tolerable is the speed of delivery.
Waste of time.
During the mid to late '80s my psychotherapist & I used hypnosis to help me with various problems & it was not only helpful, it was very enjoyable. At that time I was practicing self-hypnosis as well, which I had begun using after reading a book on the subject. Then I asked my therapist if he could do hypnotherapy & it turned out he'd had some training in this as an adjun ict to regular therapy, so with his help I was able to go into deeper hypnotic states while under his guidance as well as on my own, although I was never able to reach the deeper states on my own.
We worked on some practical problems, such as my smoking addiction, but what I really loved was the ability to enter deep states of combined relaxation & hyper-awareness. BTW, I am easily hypnotized & I realized that I had been using self-hypnosis since early childhood to induce visions. The earliest visions I can recall occurred when I was 4 or 5 yrs old, & with experience I taught myself techniques to help produce a state of awareness that could help induce more profound visions, also that allowed me to more easily enter a visionary state & to heighten the visions. I've always been very visual, have been an artist since early childhood, aided by an inherited photographic memory-- the ability to draw & paint easily is common on my maternal side, with several cousins becoming artists as adults. My visions were primarily visual, though occasionally aural.
My visions have always been deeply connected with the earth, with 'Nature', have always been experiences that allowed me to see & feel the deeper connections between, for example, the sunlight & the wind & the trees & myself, these visions being quite intense. These visions have always been similar to visions I've read about as an adult involving Native spirituality, though I am certainly not claiming my visions were as intense or as important as those of people such as Black Elk. Although I learned fairly traditional native views of life & of spirituality from my relatives from early childhood on, I have never held a relationship/position to a people in any way similar to traditional "medicine men", nor would I ever claim to speak for anyone other than myself. My visions certainly helped me better understand the traditional views of native spirituality, allowed me to experience the connection & inter-relatedness of the many forms of life that make up this earth, including those which in western thought are labeled inanimate.
The hypnotic states reached in therapy were very like my childhood (& later) visions in many ways, but they didn't include the intense spiritual revelations or connections between life forms. Still, the deeper states I reached with my therapist's help were incredibly beautiful & relaxing. More than relaxing. With his help, I was able to go to an ideal place (always chosen by me) where I was entirely relaxed & at peace while s till being very aware of my environment--the environment where I placed myself when in hypnotic states. This was an ideal place, though based on a place I had known all my life, deep in the woods near a spring, on the land where my father & his ancestors had lived for several generations, after the 1838 forced removal of our ancestors from what's now Cherokee County, N.C. Hypnosis was able to help me experience an incredible peacefulness, a deep relaxation, while at the same time allowing me to be very aware of the environment of my chosen ideal place. Linear time stopped when I was in this state & what seemed like an eternity was in linear time only a few minutes.
With hypnosis, you can choose your own ideal place, can go there & experience a relaxation that seems outside of linear space-time. It's similar in many ways to a vision & is unbelievably pleasurable.
So how do people get implanted memories? Many kids have been convinced of parental abuse when there was none. But they never trusted that parent again. It destroyed many families.and was widely used in the 1980s.
ОтветитьHypnosis is a form of brain washing. You allow someone to take over your power to believe anything. You become their puppet.
ОтветитьI have been hypnotized, it is as if you are floating in the air, and light as a feather, your eyes stay closed, and don't want to easely open.
