Another great tutorial. I'm thinking of putting all these clay animals into a scene together. Of course will need to either retopo or decimate them or my poor computer will have a meltdown 🥵💥🤣

A question about the creating outline with vertices at the beginning: Is this process an ordinary application or your trick? Merging the vertices of the plane does not seem very formal

Note that how good your constant detail resolution is depends on the scale of the mesh; you'll want to use a lower one if you want to work on a spaceship at real sizes or some such. I think the units of constant detail are "vertices per world meter / whole blender unit", and it only takes world space into consideration, object scale doesn't change the results.

It took me about a year to learn ZBrush well enough to be unencumbered with the tool to just DO what I want. How would you compare Blender's sculpting tools to ZBrush, for this very specific purpose, because now with my current bent, I'm doing mostly hard surface modeling, and all I need the scultping tools to do is add details, and break the perfect lines of CGI, to bake out normals, displacements, AO, and height maps if I can't do displacements. Stuff like decalmachine, or meshmachine plugs give surface details, but I need to make the stuff seem more real or used, and that's what I use ZBrush for mostly atm. Ian Herbert has the same requirement, he sees it too. He just does stuff at hyperspeed, I don't, I'm retired, and the Machinima I'm working on is for the love of it, I know I'll never be paid for it, and Idc. I want to make stuff I'd enjoy watching, and I'm done waiting for that to happen after the last 20 years.
Are the sculpting tools in Blender sufficient to get this accomplished without any hacks? I have simple bake, xNormals, and of course ZBrush's multimap exporter. I'm not a person that cares about using Blender only, only tools that I can accomplish my Art (say like ACK' TING! if you were a Shakespearean actor), with parsimony, the least amount of effort, and greatest efficiency. Thank you for any direction, and/or tuts in the future addressing the issue.
