Thanks for the introduction!
Where's the next video about implementing the Webserver?
Proud to subscribe your channel, now I'm surprised that you're not only making videos about Wonderful world of Windows, but also microcontrollers!
Oh, and Robotic Operating System and Jetson Nano Computer is an amazing topic to discover!
If you're like me and you have a board that gives you an error when uploading; press that BOOT button when you see the "Connecting..." - it'll stop the "." printing and then upload :)

ОтветитьThis episode is one of my favorites. You are so genuine in your enthusiasm about the ESP32, Its fun to watch you go through the process in realtime. I miss that quality in your newer stuff. Thought still great, this hobbyist level stuff is what I really enjoy.
Ответитьdo you really have to lie to get clicks? or is it that you want more than what you can bring in honestly? that means you are greedy.
ОтветитьYou can learn microcontrollers with microLisp.
uLisp is a version of the Lisp programming language specifically designed to run on microcontrollers with a limited amount of RAM, from the Arduino Uno based on the ATmega328 up to the Teensy 4.0/4.1. You can use exactly the same uLisp program, irrespective of the platform.
IF I HEAR THE WORD ESP32 AGAIN SERIOUSLY I WILL BARF !!
ОтветитьNice video, well done, thanks for sharing it with us :)
ОтветитьHow do I get com port for ESP32 espressif for windows 11?
I tried CP210X universal Windows Driver V11.3.0 6/24/2023
I use Arduino IDE 2.2.1 with 115200 baud, but it didn’t work.
The following works fine, Arduino UNO, UNO R4 WiFi and UNO R2 WiFi
Please help.
Any interest in the Arduino Uno r4? I would love to hear you opining
ОтветитьIn your video, I learned a lot of details about ESP32, I am very interested in it, and I am also a person doing related work. I will always follow you and learn more with you. I appreciate your video!
ОтветитьHi Dave, I'm glad ESP32 is working for you. I've had no end of trouble just trying to get an ets_delay_us(1); instruction working accurately. Have you tried this ?
ОтветитьDoes the esp32 come factory installed with an operating system? Please forgive the stupid question.
ОтветитьCooool! Thanks a bunch! :) :) :) Learned a lot!
ОтветитьI thought you were autistic? approx. 12 mins, 30 secs in, you look at main.cpp which contains text (empty functions + header-include) and you say "it's completely blank" !!!
Reminds me of people trying to convince IT support that their monitor screen is completely blank simply because it isn't displaying what they expect. Soooo neurotypical.
[Just friendly - kidding/teasing :P~ ] Love the videos. :) (nb - I'm not really suggesting people with autism are necessarily going to describe such things more precisely though some sometimes do and it seemed to me to be a bit of a stereotypical expectation which is why I thought it funny when you deviated from my projected suppositions of people's expectations).
Maybe I'm just thick? or slow? or i*just old?* What PlayList is this / are these in?
thanks!
Trouble with ESP32 is that after a reset it requires an external crystal instead of using the internal rc. Seems they are not so clever...
ОтветитьDid I hear that right?.. Did you say.. serial port?!? Seriously?! I've not touched one of those in over 20 years when I last unplugged a modem. Did you say 9600?.. is that baud? LOL How about coming into the 21st century and use USB instead? lol
ОтветитьAliExpress?!? Isn't the some Chinese company you have to wait weeks to get, if you get it at all? Not only that, why would anyone want to support the communist Chinese economy? So how about offering us something that can get gotten at Amazon or New Egg?
ОтветитьI don't know if its a general problem or just me but I'm finding it really hard to switch between IDEs, these days it appears easier to transition between programming in Basic and C than to change from one IDE to another. My favorite IDE was probably Turbo Pascal in the 1990s, most of my time I'm using MPLAB X which is a Netbeans fork (please don't fork IDEs if you can help it) and I can sort of get by in Visual Studio, but using PlatformIO in VSCode I can't seem to find the page where I can start a new project, and the process of getting to the "upload" function seems to involve scrolling through a huge list of actions. Also I'm sure "virtual folders" in projects have a purpose, but when the layout of files and folders in the IDE bears little or no relation to the layout on disk it can be a real obstacle to studying a code example as it isn't clear where the example stops and the framework begins.
Oh hey apparently I just needed to close it and open it again and now I can see "PlatformIO home" and the new project button.
Oh found the build button, tiny inverted caret top right of the window. Not in the menu, not on a toolbar, 5 decades of UI design theory chucked in the trash.
Have you played with the ESP32-C3 yet?
ОтветитьI understood most of the words.
Ответить:(
why neither Arduino nor PlatformIO work for me?
The PlatformIO says, the port ( any speed I try including 115200) is not support, and the Arduino IDE says "Access is denied.
exit status 1
Compilation error: exit status 1"
Of course, I unplug and re-plug in, and even reboot the PC still doesn't help.
However, the WLED works like charm! :(
DAVE! Would it be possible for you and me to do a Zoom meeting where you and I get our headsets on and you do a Vulcan Mind Mold on me to share everything you know about Arduinos? At 64 I'm terribly behind on that technology.🤣🤣
ОтветитьArduino have the pro lineup that is professional oriented industrial rated harware if I understand it correctly
Ответитьwhat shortcut keys does he use to jump to the top like that to type in what task he wants to do?
ОтветитьBam! Could it be that simple? And yes… it is! Haha nice. Great video and thank you!
ОтветитьDave have you ever cast your eye over the OVMS system built on these beasties?
ОтветитьDid I miss the part where we saw the printout on the LCD display? I didn't notice. It would have been satisfying to see it.
ОтветитьI have enjoyed this video, and being able to understand the creator. My struggle for two days has been getting Windows 11 to be able to see my ESP32 or ESP8266 boards. I can't get a USB to UART driver to work. I keep trying to install drivers from Silicon Labs for the CP2102, but getting nowhere. My machine immediatley sees Arduino boards.
ОтветитьEverytime i follow a video step by step its like error error 😅
ОтветитьDo you have any security concerns with using Chinese dev boards? Do you take any precautions (only doing dev from a VM etc.)?
ОтветитьHey Dave, did you ever make that tutorial for wifi development? You speak of it in this video but I was unable to find it. Perhaps you could like to it in the info bubble (the ℹ in the video controls)? Thank you!
ОтветитьThe ESP32 can also accept touch sensors on a single wire to a pin.
ОтветитьIve been thinking of a way to make a custom esp32 board in the m.2 formfactor so I can make easier carrier boards for prototyping.
ОтветитьAs a beginner I’m so confused trying to pick a ESP32 board. There’s too many options. And prices are sky high now if you got yours for only $3!
ОтветитьThe digital rain , I was trying to count how many columns is that, to compare to the number of standard musical notes so I could turn such a thing into a midi generator..
ОтветитьHow would one go about connecting an isa or PCI bus to the esp32?
ОтветитьHow do you bring up that run build task menu?????
I hear click and a window pops up!!! That has the thing I need to run BUT CANNOT GHERT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, let us run it by pressing this offscreen magic key you cannot see that bring up this magic window of options you can't get to because I have not told you the magic key combo I pressed to bring up the secret magic menu you can't get too because I am not going to tell you the secret key combo to bring up the build option. GG good demo!
ОтветитьThanks. However I think there have been a lot of changes in the way this works. E.g. no search box at the top of the window, some issues with the platformIO where it seems you have to create the project but then to access it you have to explicitly open it. I was able to compile and upload an example to a NodeMCU quite easily but unfortunately the steps were quite different to what you show.
Ответитьhi dave based on your experience. Is it too late to start learning programming at age 33, and to lend a job?
Ответитьcan you not...
int main(int argc,char **argv,char **env)
{
while(input.pin6!=1){
printf("hello world\r\n");
}
return((int)(0));
}
