The story of leaving a candle in the window, was when a family member was away the candle was placed in the window , it also represented friendship & were seen as a sign of welcome to others. There are so many stories about the candle in the window, the candles welcome was part silent prayer for the safe return of an absent person, & part sign there is someone waiting & tending the fire. So many hidden messages in “ the candle in the window” but all were good & in the South it is a very common practice especially during Christmas time 🍂🧡🤎🧡🍂

I’m so glad i came across this video. Your home is wonderful! The inside architecture is perfection, and your design sense is exquisite. That kind of talent is both inborn and cultivated. I will never decorate with words...but I like it when you do. I lean toward minimalism, but want to live in your non-minimalist home. Hope you don’t mind a suggestion — the bathroom off the office could use a reno (toilet on the left, sink on the right, shelves in the middle). A toilet just shouldn’t be the first thing you see when the door is opened. This kind of plumbing modification can be super pricey, but sometimes not. Anyway, thanks for this video!
