ОтветитьMy mama sorta tried...but she mostly drank and cried...
ОтветитьIf there’s one thing written in stone, it’s that you never interrupt a Merle Haggard song
ОтветитьI always hated when they have em do the performance without the band.

ОтветитьCountry at its best
ОтветитьCountry songs today aren't written from life experiences. They're manufactured in boardrooms on Music Row and handed out to "artists" who can make the most money. I had almost forgotten what real music sounded like.
ОтветитьShe tried to do as much damage as she could.
ОтветитьMerle was hot
ОтветитьI don’t think country gets much better than Merle
ОтветитьHaving Merle perform this song on a merry go round set while wearing a lime green leisure suit was an interesting choice. I would have perched the lead guitarist on the camel.
Ответить"Merle, you're really the guy that people think I am." - Johnny Cash to Merle
Ответитьno one can match his believability and authenticity of this gem
Ответить"she tried to raise me right but I refused" that pretty much says it all 😔
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY everyone ✌️ ❤️
The first song, of the first concert I went to soon after my mom passed...some things are just so perfect--even the painful ones--you can't help but wonder...One of 20th century America's great songwriters. rip Hag.
ОтветитьRequiescat in pace
ОтветитьI've heard this for 50 years done by the Grateful Dead. They did it in a Bakersfield style. This was tasty.
ОтветитьMama tried, but you didn't listen. 😋
ОтветитьThe epitome or real amazing great country music!
ОтветитьToo bad men don't look like that anymore. That classic handsome debonair look. What happened?
ОтветитьGit'er done!
ОтветитьGreat Black Sheep Anthem!(country style).Wife&I have much in common; She went to Penn State,I went to State Penn!😁😳
ОтветитьWoW amazing🥰
ОтветитьIs him the son of the Merle Haggar father or just the same name?
ОтветитьWhose here because Ryan Upchurch tattooed "Mama didn't try 🖤" on his face? February 2023
ОтветитьI was born 2 work hard in the timber industry...from setting chokers 2 driving like I've done 4 the last 30 years...but my momma tried 2 clue me into a better life...but I work hard and earn what I make...wish the rest of the world would
Ответитьit looks like color TV just came out
ОтветитьI went to see George and Merle in the early 80's. Guess who didn't show up....Merle. George put one of hell of show on though. He joked about it all night.
ОтветитьIs that the Strangers? Where’s Bonnie? Whats w the CC on the drums?
ОтветитьThis is Merle's life story, although he wasn't seving life without parole, but he was in prison. The best line, "That leaves only me to blame 'cause mama tried." This shows that Merle took the responsibly for his troubles. In today's world people always want to balme someone else, but not Merle Haggard, he took the blame himself. It's a shame we don't have more like him in htis world today.
ОтветитьMy new karaoke jam.
Ответитьlol has anyone mentioned the badass suit he has on......and wtf with the carousel horses ?? lol
ОтветитьThis was hands ✋️ down my momas favorite 😍 🙌 song 🎵
ОтветитьR. I. P.

🎶 I, myself can't stand Today's County 🎶💙
Music. ,🎶💚 if that's what they call it.🤣
Now this is County Music.🎶💜
Garth Brooks took this to entire different level. But Garth knows Merle was the man.
Ответитьwhy did they cut out the gun lyric?
ОтветитьDon't let anyone tell you different, the Outlaw movement started with Merle in the mid sixties.
