i loved to watch him on both this old house and the new yankee work shop i still watch his reruns hes a great man
ОтветитьThank You, for all the years of useful tips and tricks. Between you and my dad, I have been able to restore my 125 year old house.
ОтветитьNorm was and still is the best ! Have a great rest of your life !!
ОтветитьNorm is way too young to retire. I am finishing a project at Discovery Bay. There was major dry rot and the windows leaked. I and the owner pulled window out and rewrapped the house. Then reinstall the windows. I have put the drywall back so this Friday I will be using a hopper spray tool to recreate the original texture. In addition to that the house Jack failed. I helped jack hammer the piers and poured new piers. We have the new adjustable house Jack so soon we will install. Current beam to door has temporary support.
I maybe retired but I got my backyard to do. I have concrete to pour. I do myself. A 1-2-4 mix. That I will use.
Norm you too young to retire please come back
Norm is my age. Thanks to this old house, renovated a 1908 house in Los Angeles. I was retired as an Electronic engineer but was far from doing wood work. The house in Los Angeles is 5661 Ash St. I spent 2.5 year restoring two houses mostly by myself and when my son had free time. I did all the electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall finish, tiling bathroom, install earthquake hardware including strut one plywood. I drew the plans and my son put it on autocad. Thanks to This Old House and You Tube it was possible to finish the job. The building inspectors were amazed at City Hall. They said it was a father and son team doing what should have been done by professionals.
Thanks to Norm and Silva and all of This Old House
Born,
Your shows will be missed.
I loved watching Norm, one of the biggest reasons I became a carpenter, learned so much from him. Here I am today, a master cabinet maker and finish carpenter, and I owe a lot of that to Norm. Thanks again from those of us who wear work boots everyday!
ОтветитьLove Norm , but his net worth seems very low ? mine is higher , but I also worked very hard in the same trade , retired at 45 . He will be missed !
ОтветитьTHANKS NORM FOR EVERYTHING,I LEARNED A LOT FROM YOU.
ОтветитьI'm from Chile, first time see New Yankee, was in 1995 on my first vacation in NY...Since then I follow Norm, and our house furniture (not all ) is made by watchin' the show. and house renovation the same way....Thanks, Norm for teaching me what I know. Pablo , From Chile
ОтветитьAbsolutely love him. I took wood shop in high school and New Yankee Workshop reinforced my love for woodworking. He had a subtle humor which made the show fun.
ОтветитьNorm is going to be sorely missed.I love his work
ОтветитьI remember hurrying home on Sunday afternoon to watch This Old House and Norm Abram. How I envied his workshop!
ОтветитьLove Norm. Thanks for sharing your knowledge for so long.
ОтветитьNorm Abrams got me into woodworking through the New Yankee Workshop. I even built a couple of his projects. His clear explanations make it seem so easy and seductive. Woodworking is one of my joys, thanks to Norm.
ОтветитьI brought Norm into a home show back in the 80's. Could not have been a nicer guy!
ОтветитьI have never met any of This Old House crew or The New Yankee Workshop , but I never miss any of their shows , but I would like to meet them . I have learned a lot just watching them . I'm a big fan The New Yankee Workshop Norm Abrams is first class and a joy to watch . Thank you so much for their shows and excellent advice .
ОтветитьNorm, from Cornwall, Ontario, Canada......thanks! You have inspired and given me the confidence to try any wood working project. Cheers Norm!
ОтветитьI think as a child we started watching This Old House. I have watched almost all of the projects. Thank you to all of the members and especially Norm.
ОтветитьI'll admit I have a few years on Norm an in my lifetime an many have, there is always an standout in their field weather it be sports or business or science or any thing in between. Norm has always been inspiring in my woodworking abilities. As several viewers said ," A national treasure". Norm, Happy Retirement.
ОтветитьAs a carpenter, it was obvious that Norm was the man who knew what he was talking about. While Bob Villa was a typical superintendent trying to balance every aspect of a job, while being wholly unable, to really do anything himself (I've known dozens if not hundreds of men like Bob.) I'd sit there watching the show and mutter to myself "shut-up Bob,..Norm has something to say." (Sorry Bob.) Guys like Norm are rare.
ОтветитьHe is the Rembrandt of wood working! I still remember watching the early shows Russell Morash produced, very entertaining and educational shows on PBS.
ОтветитьTaught me most of my woodworking skills…got most of his shows still on vhs.😀
ОтветитьDefinitely a classic I have learned so much from him thank you and happy retirement
ОтветитьThis guy was my idol growing up. Between my grandfather and this guy is the reason I’m into woodworking.
ОтветитьLoved watching Norm on New Yankee Workshop. Part of my PBS lineup. Happy Retirement Norm!!
ОтветитьGreat man
ОтветитьMiss hem love watch hem learning
ОтветитьAWESOME skills
ОтветитьWhat an amazing man .Norm you are an inspiration !!
ОтветитьI wish I had his skills !!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьThank you Norm! You will be missed!
ОтветитьHe was an inspiring guy, and fun to watch!
ОтветитьI have watched the PBS shows for almost 40 years. The new yankee workshop taught and nourished a love for woodworking( as a hobby) and this old house has been ever so helpful when trying to tackle projects of your own at home. Countless times could I hear one of the voice saying " and youre gonna want to watch out for this" or " when it does, do this" Windows, door jams, basic plumbing skills, all learned from watching these guys on TV. Thanks to you Norm!
ОтветитьI learned so much form this man, I sure do miss him
ОтветитьOne of the very few celebrities I would have loved to have met
ОтветитьNorm was my inspiration in woodworking and the reason behind my workshop build may he have a long healthy retirement
ОтветитьGreat guy, I watched him all the time growing up.
ОтветитьThank you Norm for everything you've patiently taught us. You're one-of-a-kind!
ОтветитьNo mention of Bob Vila? Where is he now?
ОтветитьIt's a shame that the guy that started it all is only worth 2.5 million. I guess that has something to do with being on public television. The HGTV people make millions a year today. They should all send him 50K every year for ever. Thanks for all the years of information and education Norm.
ОтветитьI thought norm was the new guy replacing Bob Beala
ОтветитьNorm is the greatest in watch t.o.h. watch all the new Yankee workmshop have fun norm
ОтветитьNorm is on a plane with Bob Ross and Fred Rogers, a true American treasure.
Ответить, Norm Abram, thank you so very, very much, for all shown
ОтветитьWhen I was younger, I looked forward to and watched Norm's New Yankee Workshop every Saturday morning. I now have my own garage workshop thanks to inspiration from Norm.
ОтветитьWorkers like Norman have been replaced by Cheap workers in China.
ОтветитьI have been watching Norm for as long as I can remember and I learned so much from him, thank you Norm and enjoy your retirement
