this performance takes me to another plane entirely. Incredibly moving. WOW!
This performance needs to be in a museum so it can be heard until the end of time.
Gary Booker and Band/Orchestra! UNBELIEVABLE PERRFORMANCE! The absolute best I have ever heard! And I have heard so many........to sound this good 40 years later a performer extraordinaire.....Thank you all that were on that stage for the remarkable performance!
Quanti ricordi.... Ho un nodo alla gola...... Grazie mille....
My recent analysis of the lyrics suggest that the song is utter nonsense "explore the ship, replace the cook", etc.
However, we're urged to considered that when the song was written Procol Harum was at the top of their game - they could do anything they wanted, and wrote what they saw.
Pop culture had only recently become completely meshed between British and American society. It was as though there was one tribe from the Beatles to the Beach Boys. When the song was written, the US (and the world) had recently witnessed 3 major American political figures murdered in broad daylight - on prime time TV. The moon landing had taken place. Figures like the members of this band who had access to the core of the most potent social elements could likely tell that the moment wasn't going to be sustainable as evidenced by the trouble at Altamont, in Haight Ashbury and elsewhere. The singer is evoking an epic tale of conquest and mutiny during the end of an era. Or he might have just been having a good laugh with a cool riff.
Either way, it's one of the most epic songs ever put on plastic.
I wish i were wrong but somehow procol harum with so much incredible music will not be in the rock hall.
GENIAL ❗❗❗❗❗❗GENIAL ❗❗❗❗❗❗GENIAL
Confermo è un capolavoro
Marvellous..
Splendid
Ответитьlove salty dog album
What is the choir singing
Ответитьwhat a concert :) in denmark
I first heard this song when I was 15 years old, instantly liked it, and - now in my sixties - still think that this is one of the really great pieces of 20st century music. Thank you for this great performance. RIP Gary Brooker!
This song always sends a chill up my spine, always brings a tear to my eye.
True classic ! Outstanding !
An absolute gem of a performance which made me quite emotional to say the least. Tears came.Rog. Pacific sunset records.Just heard we've lost lyricist Keith Reid today.
RIP Keith Reid
Brividi. Lacrime.
Ответитьcapolavoro
Ответитьdid they just wrap a lump of foam round his mic and tie it rather than using a proper fitted pop filter for the presumably sm58 mic?
Tonight I told someone at a Bible study that this could be for my funeral.
They responded mentioning “Into the West” from Lord of the Rings.
Just listened to it. Not a bad pairing.
I keep coming back to this video. It's just stunning how his singular voice can command the stage with all those instruments and the size of the audience and outside. It's just magnificent to me.
I bought a salty dog in the seventies, but I washed him and he was a dry dog
A Salty Dog, Homburg, A Whiter Shade Of Pale MASTERPIECES!!!
Grazie Gary ❤️🙏
ОтветитьR.i.P. 🥺
Ответитьich liebe 🥰 es
Good music like this will outlive all of us Herbie
This arrangement of this song is SUPREME! R.I.P. Gary Brooker, you were a rare talent.
Long reign Procol Harum, one of the great rock groups to emerge from England! Absolute travesty they aren't in the R&R Hall of Fame.
One of my all-time favorite songs since it came out way back when....I want this to be played on my funeral, one day.....
This open air concert.. What can I say? It's magnificent, just magical. RIP Gary.
So very sad. I'm 64 now and grew up in the sixties. Real music so it was. 🥰. Thank you!
Absolutely marvellous ❤️
WOW as hard as it is to believe, this surpasses the original recording back in '69, loved the album cover depicting a ciggie - Players Navy Cut x
Master peace !!!
And now another rock legend is gone. We still have the great performances. RIP Gary Brooker.
Sir Gary Brooker.
RIP Gary Brooker. I asked my son today (he is 34) did he know a whiter shade of pale, he said no. I have failed him.... He grew up with his mum, not me....
Ora anche tu, Gary, hai raggiunto quella sabbia bianca e quel mare blu.....
O Capitano! Mio Capitano.....
RIP thx
Gary have a good journey. Thank you for your wonderful song and voice💔😥
