Thanks for this! I just started learning to sew doll clothes. Love the gathers tip.
ОтветитьI tried being a batch sewer for a lady who sold tons of American Girl doll clothes. It was shocking that it seemed to take as long as making human-sized garments! Great tips!

ОтветитьGOOD JOB, EXPLAINING TECHNIQUES.
ОтветитьI just started to try to make doll clothes yesterday. I love the tip about doing the gathers. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьTiny buttons, hooks/eyes, n snaps may be great for tiny hands but they suck for adult size hands/fingers.
Ответитьwonderful, clear and easy to follow along. Thank you

ОтветитьDo explained it very well I love those close made the doll I haven’t started making the dress yet thank you so much for making it so clear I will be following you in the near future thank you from Jane God bless
ОтветитьExcellent . Thank you .
ОтветитьLove this video
Ответитьalso for closures - I use pretty color coordinated 1/4" to 1/2" ribbon and sew on the back closings - then all you have to do is tie the ribbons and the garment is closed and the ribbon allows for different size dolls to wear the same clothes. So much easier for little hands than snaps and buttons
ОтветитьI really hate those tissue patterns so I copy patterns onto regular copy paper - it holds the shape much better and so much easier to cut out. I also use pins and the copy paper doesn't rip like those tissue patterns do.
ОтветитьVery helpful. More please!
ОтветитьThank you so much this is the best advice
ОтветитьWhat about when beginning a seam or hem & your machine doesn’t want to advance the fabric & you end up with a lump of repeated stitches? I’m sewing doll aprons, & the ties are the worst, especially the corners! I’ve pressed & pinned, but the corners still want to get stuck! Can you help?! Thanks so much!
ОтветитьGood tips. I especially like the pin method of gathering.
ОтветитьThis just popped up in my suggestions but was so well presented I’ve subscribed
ОтветитьI use pinking shears to go around and trim all the edges. It makes a big difference in bulk! Great video, thanks!

ОтветитьAll excellent tips. TFS
ОтветитьThanks for those tips .
ОтветитьI just found this video and wow! Very helpful! I use a stiletto to push my fabric but because I quilt, I found u can use a postage stamp size piece of fabric as a starter and one as a finisher and it works just like when I quilt to keep fabric from sucking into the feed dog. :)
ОтветитьWatching during pandemic. First thought of an accessory: a matching face mask. Sad; but true. 😔
ОтветитьIt’s my first time venturing into making doll clothes, this was very helpful.
ОтветитьBrilliant! I just need to get hold of the pattern now and a quilting foot... Thank you for this videa

ОтветитьDo you have a suggestion for stopping the seams from fraying as everything is so small its hard to turn the edges over and sew down without them getting too thick and bulky
