My name is Daniel, but I answer mainly to "Danny." I live in Athens, Alabama. Athens is nearby Huntsville, nicknamed "ROCKET CITY, USA" because it was home to the first US Rocket & Space industry in the nation. Redstone Arsenal still tests rockets and its associated parts, and hosts a wide expanse of technology and engineering industries.
I turn 50 at the end of this year. I am happily married -- my wife is named Patrice, and she is 61. We don't have children, but we are the parents of a very spoiled boxer/beagle mix named, "Ellie." I spent 20 years in the US Army, working in explosives supply and logistics; I retired in 2016.
My parents live in Illinois, where I was born/raised. Our relationship is.... "complicated." I have a step-sister that is two years younger than me, and she has a family of her own.

Hello, I started watching your videos a few months ago when I became interested in the russian language and I find them very informative and interesting, so thank you. Regarding this video, I've got a question: you have used 2 different words for the color brown: Карие and Каштановые. Is the first one the generic word for the color and the second one only used for a particular shade of brown or is it the other way around? What has got me curious is the fact that the portuguese word for brown is "castanho", which is almost similar to the russian one, including in its pronounciation.

Hello, I recently found I have an interest in russian. I have yet to learn the alphabet and only know small words like privet, нет, and да. Any advice on how I should approach learning it?

I was trying to learn Russian and saw your video it helped a lot! I'm Bulgarian so it's a lot easier for me to learn Russian and we almost have the same alphabet.
