May I say a word in defense of Southern Mammas? There can be a big difference between suppressing your feelings and keeping your act together. When my ex and I broke up but he continued to try to control me and our child, I never held back my feelings, but knew how to make them known without screaming and pitching a fit. A friend of mine was present when over the phone I gave Mr Ex the facts of life - calmly, simply and without once raising my voice.
