CHIVALRY 2 vs MORDHAU | Which Game Is ACTUALLY Better?

Coming to this a year later its crazy how dev support swapped to mordhau taking the win

The Chivalry 2 teams are called: Agatha (blue), Mason (red and is also my profile) and Tenosia (yellow)

So I have amassed almost 100 hours in Chivalry 2. I am by no means a professional PvP Medieval gamer, but I know that this is my scene with over an easy 1,000 hours in Mordhau. Blyxus here, and in Mordhau I think people actually like playing in this world more vs. Chiv 2.

The Yin & Yang is real in this situation, but maybe people in the comments can help me decipher:

In chivalry 2: RDM FFA server top playersr 35/8 per say
Mordhau RDM FFA: Probably close to that if not 30/2

I can't play either or at the same time since my CPU is limited; so I have to delete either or in order to play the other. This gives me an unbiased experience for the most part. After 1k hours on Mordhau, I am by all no means to discontinue my experience with Chiv 2 after almost 2 years of ridiculing it. I'm comfortable with the "equality" in competition, yet I do miss the comedic community and crazily body and building destructions with Mordhau.

Just to be upfront: Neither of these games are "bad" or a bad choice. I'm a chivalry O.G. that came to mordhau and never looked back. Both games are outstanding.

I inow this video is a year old, but yould you say your opinions stand as time has gone by?

I hope Chiv2 adds a lot more content in the near future. It's fun to play, but the main customisation options are in weapons, and I frankly want more armour options, in general, and more armour that gives me a reason not to wear a helmet, like the ones that have coifs.

the three types of mordhau players:

-the tryhard:
high-mid level
will put the craziest moves to bait you in guard or to go around it
either really toxic or really wholesome
hates bowmens

-the average:
mid-low level
gets around 5-25 kills per game
is here because he loves knights
yells at tryhards
hates bowmens

-the memer/the troll:
only reason is here is for shits'n giggles
probably high level
will have the whackiest face, build, and playstyle on the whole server
usualy really wholesome (especially the musicians and medics)
they are the reason i still play mordhau
hates bowmens

Chivalry 2 isn't full of racist white supremacists. So personally for me, from my experience, Chivalry 2 is automatically better because the community is better.

Mordhau is harder. Yes. But it feels much much better than Chiv

Reading some comments i'd say it would be nice to be able to switch in some way, maybe depending on the server, between both combat gameplays in one unique game, because i love the mechanics of mordhau but i am thinking on buying chiv 2 for when i want to, idk watch a vid or something while i play.

Both games are good but after playing Chivalry 2 and heading straight into Mordhau, it threw me straight into the dirt of guts and blood.

Good stuff. 💪 be good if both developers did come together to make a ultimate medieval slasher game. ⚔️ need more games like it, it also bums me out that Kingdom Come: Deliverance didn’t get the same gory combat.

As a Fencer I declare: Even though the movements of the characters are not realistic, the combat system is more close to real life. Other Fencers can confirm that.
Because In real battle to win, you are actually trying to deceive the opponent or outplay him in speed and reaction of movements. In mordhau you can feind or dragging, acceling And these techniques quite accurately repeat the meaning of sword fighting. In chivalry you can keep the block indefinitely, until stamina runs out, and thus deceptive movements have little effect even on weak players, That makes gameplay boring and more like a battlefield.

Of course, in real life, people's movements are smoother relative to the animations in the game, but an ordinary office worker or even a street fighter has little chance against a master of martial arts. The problem is that there is a high% of masters in Mordhau)

I prefer Mordhau, even though I think Chiv II is probably a better game. Mordhau is just more fun: customization, bards and some players being super cool and chill. Even though I think the skill ceiling may be higher and the sweatlords being cringe no-lifes, you can find nice opponents who will play for fun and not for meta, trying risky plays. That being said, the maps in Chiv are probably better, the game has less exploits and is also an earlier game with confident choices by the devs, which I will praise them for.

Edit: I have 59h in Mordhau and 29h in Chiv II, I play for fun and consider my self low-tier in skill. I also believe games should cater to mid-level players, never to high-level

I started playing Chiv 1 just as it was dying and then moved to Mordhau and got too used to the combat mechanics so Chiv 2 feels slow and all around awful to me D:

I wish I enjoyed Chiv 2's combat more because it seems like it'll be around a lot longer after Mordhau dies :(

mordhau is my favorite because of the players. there is never a lack of fools carrying out goofy shenanigans and crossteaming bards

Nah, Chiv 2 is too casual. Plus, meme loadouts in Mordhau is kinda nice

Played both games and i have 180+ hours in Mordhau and 20+ hours in Chiv 2. Yet i say Chiv 2 has a way better and more realistic fighting and physics system, better maps and better community (there are very few people being toxic in the chat). In Mordhau, i love the 1v1 duel system and the horde mode too, but i still prefer Chiv 2 even tho im only level 30 in it right now.

Chiv2 and Mordhau are like battlefield and cs2. Both are shooters but battlefield is more arcade and fun and cs is more competitive . If you wanna play for fun than mordhau is realy bad choice

started my first game of mordhau yesterday and i got absolutely slaughtered(went like 0.5 kd mostly if i was trying) by the better playeyrs to be honest i don't even know where the feint key is yet although i figured there has to be one as the others feinted me all the time haha
playing bow class also seemed underwhelming as you basically need 3 arrows to kill someone if it is not a hs

Mordhau without a doubt but it would be better if the Mordhau devs actually kept their word and completely removed the stupid reverse waterfall cucumber 360 maul instakill bullshit. All they needed to do was bugfix those exploits out of the game and it would be perfect.

The myth about Mordhau being more competitive / skill-based is stupid. Mordhau has a much higher skill FLOOR. Chivalry 2 has a much higher skill CEILING - it has much more depth to the combat and the competitive communities and strategies are still forming

So uh mordhau lore is that we are mercaneries clans hired by nobles/free towns to attack/defend nobles/free towns. This also canonicly explains why we get paid on the end of an round

I've never played Chivalry 2. So this is going to be pretty biased...
MORDHAU for only 1 reason:

When i found out there weren't bards or stupid crap like that to entice annoying players I went and bought Chiv 2 right away and have not looked back. The community is SO much better!

I have bought Mordhau and dropped it after few month. Too casual for this game. Even in team matches tryhards everywhere. Thinking to buy Chivalry for old time sake

As a new Mordhau players that never played Chivalry 2 I must agree that Mordhau AIN'T beginners friendly, you just get matched with level 200 and must practice until you can get a kill, it can take days... The only thing I like is the "realism" until some tryhard starts to make some weird moves and one-tap you.

Other than that, the game is amazing, I can play it for days and still love it, sometimes it may get tiring tho.

why they dont make a game like this in unreal engine 5?

i prefer mordhau cuse of the role playand the high charkter customisation and the comblexter combat i never gets boring and i also prefer the caotic feeling of mordhau cuse i like when games are extremly caotic iam my self lever 30 and i still get somtimes killed by level 1 players and also mordhau has some realy funy body part and sword physiksi man you can cut of body parts

As a new chivalry player, I enjoy chivalry because it’s just some funny knights killing each other on funny maps in the most casual way ever. No pressure, only fun. Good for when I have to take a break from stressing over overwatch competitive.

Chivalry 2 fight sistem is better and the skins and the grapic better and chivalry have a knight feeling but the mordhau not in chivalry 2 we have 48vs48 but in mordhau it's 10vs10 so boring

Mordhau is for gay nerds who think learning gay angles to slash and then spin is the same as BEING a knight. While Chivalry actually Looks cool. You can be competitive at shitting ur pants but no one cares even though You swear it's competitive and oh that's it. Competitive gay Olympics.

The only main gripe i got with chivalry is that the dead bodies disappear after 5 seconds, you cant really see the war other than blood stains
