NieR Automata on Switch CRUSHES Expectations: Full Review

Im aware nier is one of the best game out there or so they say. I hoped and waited for years for it be ported on switch so i can play it wherever. Those years of waiting are damn worth it! Same with p5!

I didn't pre order because I already beat the game on PC. I initially thought on getting it on eshop sale but I think I want it physical afterall. So, a shame for the pre order bonus.

Nier is a jrpg in the same way that fallout is a jrpg. Its an action adventure game with very light and unnecessary rpg elements. Still, one of the best games ever

I'm honestly disappointed that people still can't grasp just how capable the Tegra X1 is. Nier running fine on Switch isn't surprising at all considering how old the game is.

calling this game revolutionary IS A FAR STRETCH

I have the game I'm just afraid of the depression and being finished and done with the game.

I've been in love with the lore and spoiled everything for myself years ago (because i adore the dark apocalypse raids in ffxiv) assuming I'd never be able to afford to play it, but I finally had the disposable income to purchase it and the switch version is surprisingly good! I enjoyed replicant on ps4 a lot, and while i still prefer the dodge from replicant, i enjoy the movement in automata a lot. hate the map tho. its horrible

Min-spec for the game on PC only called for a dual-core i3, mid-level GPU with 2gb VRAM, and 4gb RAM. Seems about right that it could be tweaked to work pretty well at 30fps on Switch. It also proves that it's not strictly a technical issue that stops other devs/companies from doing this, it's more just a matter of them not wanting to bother doing it a lot of the time.

Switch was released in March 2017, so it is more than 5 years old

I have this on PS4, but I play Switch way more. I used to make jokes about this game being on Switch because I thought it could NEVER happen. I’m genuinely glad to see that it has and it runs well

While playing on pc is probably the best way to play, if you haven't played it yet this way is absolutely sensational. I bought it again just to have it portable and currently playing through it having a great time.

I am currently playing it in handheld Mode on my oled and oh boi, its somehow even more fun that way because of the vibrant colours and everything! The fps are fine in most areas and the graphics actually dont look bad as well! I am ready to take some huge emotional damage once again lol

I've been wanting to play this game, but I'm a minor, although I have played M games those where rated M because of the violence. And I looked into NieR Automata and they say that the story is complicated and that minors won't get it. So should I still play?

This game have to go fast, and that also affect visuals. The port is great anyway for people who only play on Switch.
"No Man's Sky" port is great on Switch too.

Ports like this, Nier, Grid, No man's sky, doom, or even fortnite makes me thing that the Switch could have done better, we had games like Tlou running on ps3, which is less powerful than the Switch, and yet we don't have that level of fidelity.

I'm so glad to know that they managed to make it work well on the Switch. I might need to pick this game back up eventually.

I wonder if the dev team could bring down the resolution from 1080p on Switch and reach the 60fps in a performance type mode with the smoothness of the PS4 and Xbox One or if the visual downgrade and dynamic resolution would take too big of a hit. The fact it runs at 1080p at 30fps on this (frankly archaic outdated from the time it released) Nintendo Switch is a small wonder.

And we're getting a new title in the Nier franchise, S-E has Yoko Taro chained up in the bowels of S-E HQ working on a new major project.

I liked Neir for it’s story, wacky and experimental gameplay, and (most importantly) its soundtrack. I thought the rpg mechanics were too light, however, the graphics to leave something to be desired, and the story to be frustrating. UNPOPULAR OPINION TRIGGER WARNING: you should not have to play through a game multiple times to complete the story. To put it into perspective, NSP, this would have been the perfect blockbuster rental back in the day. Love it for a weekend, move on.

Nier Automata is an action-adventure game. Made in Japan and has light RPG elemets, but is nowhere near jRPG.
