There is any cloud key or way to adopt unifi aps in remote locations? I have a VPN Site to site and I want to adopt multiple aps. I tried reset the ap and set "set-inform" command without success.

Can i use unifi controller software to manage cloud key? because now my cloud key and unifi controller software have a different ip address..

Can this unifi Cloud key gen1 be used with the latest unifi app to manage the device / network from you phone if needed or does this only work with the gen2 cloud key

Just so you know if this cloud key loses power it will become almost useless....they don't tell you that before you buy it, i'm still trying to get it to work like it did out of the box

don't understand how you came up with that host name. can you put whatever you want in there as a host name as long as it ends with .com?

Is the Ethernet cable that come with the Cloud Key (gen1) proprietary or can it be replaced with a longer more flexible cable?

This seems convoluted! I just want to add some AP's.. Where is the simple setup?

I really like your content on Unifi products and its setup. Love the detail you put in. I bought these products looking at your videos. But one thing I have struggled from the start is the setup of a controller. The biggest issue i have is accessing controller where i have multiple applications using the default ports that the controller uses.


Hence i bought a Unifi Controller Key. Now I am unable to access the Unifi Controller application from the Browser when I click the "Manage" like you have shown in your video. The browser times out. I did a netstat and found that my Windows PC is listening on localhost:8443, 8080, 8843, 8880. Now I am stuck as i don't know where I go change this setting in order to access the unifi application on the cloud key.

Hey, I am trying to port forward my local ip camera so I can access it online. Issue I am having is that the WAN IP and the public IP are different. Can I get it working with the Unifi cloud key or a USG? I read something about dyndns but still cant get my head around it. Any suggestions will be great. Thanks!

So That way I can clone the set up between the station on the base. this is for IP CAMER & WI-FI Access point !

...how is this easy to set up ???? You need to have PhD in computer science just to get the switch to work like on your previous video...this is a joke unusable overly complicated everything should be auto detected !!!

I like your videos on the Cloud Key product. Can you tell me how you chose your name for the cloud key device in the ubnt website. I saw that it looks like a internet domain name .??

So... I think I might have understood this wrong somehow. I thought I could set up my own hosted controller in the cloud and get the cloud key to sync to that. From your video, it seems it will only work with the ubnt account. Am I right to assume that?

To me, the whole point with the cloud key is to have a local controller in case the cloud controller for some reason is not possible to reach.

Is there a way to leverage this cloud access to actually navigate inside my network remotely. For instance if I wanted to access the web interface of a video conference endpoint through a browser on my network from remote. Or RDP into a workstation on my network, without doing port forwarding and leveraging the cloud access?

How to add sites into the cloudkey PLEASE

if i get this will my guest control work without my controller computer having to be plugged in to the switch?

Cloud-key is manage physical site from any where, what about manage different location from one place,
without install unifi controller on cloud server, is that possible ? can you help on this? Thanks

WD MyCloud uses a similar cloud access that WD hosts. No fees! This helps me, admin residential friends & family locations via the www. This will be nice for that aspect too.

What happens if a cloud key at a remote location dies?

Hi willie, is it possible that you know of to manage the VOIP software and or NVR software from the cloud key? I currently have AWS to host my applications but if the key could do it then it would avoid having to host my services externally.

Willie, great video. We currently host a controller on AWS for all our clients but have been having some problems adopting and provisioning USG's lately, seems like since the last big update. Would you agree that switching to cloud access would be a lot cleaner as we could connect to a controller that is locally installed at a clients site and still have access through the web? Seems a lot cleaner and redundant since all the clients would be on 1 controller or AWS VM.
