thank you for making this wonderful video!
ОтветитьWas really enjoying this, when I realised I haven't seen this film yet! Coming back soon!
ОтветитьWhen talking about the need being further away by the road of trials I actually disagree. It is the want of the character that is being separated by the trials not the need, the need is actually the solution that makes the protagonist resolve the tensions of the story otherwise the need as no impact at the moment of the revelation.
ОтветитьBro music is louder than your voice
Ответитьgreat production! is the 8 point story arc by Dan Harmon or is this a derivative of an earlier published work by Nigel Watts?
ОтветитьI appreciate it but it also seems like a recipe for typical story arcs. I’d love to see the form grow. Also, the Dark Knight is overrated.
ОтветитьMargites, you did it again.
ОтветитьHmm that didnt help me at all🤔 but Batman is still a great Movie😅
ОтветитьThanks Bro x
ОтветитьNot needed at all — just some arbitrary steps that the majority of successful screenwriters don’t take into consideration.
Ответитьbatman didnt purposely kill harvey. the writers understanding writing but dont understand Batman, love SB though
ОтветитьHow to make a boring predictable story: teach everyone to tell a story the same way following an 8 step process.
ОтветитьI have an ending. I do not have a beginning. How do I fix that?
ОтветитьSorry, what does "meeting the Goddess"? mean again?
Ответить1. you (establish the protagonist)
2. you need (protagonist needs externally / wants something internally)
3. you go! (protagonist acts / entering the chaos circle)
4. you search (protagonist faces obstacles)
5. you find (but its not as the protagonist expected)
6. you take (but not without paying a price)
7. you return (bringing home what you took)
8. you change (protagonist has developed)
Amazing story even more amazing as the lie doesn’t work
ОтветитьWtf if the problem w Bruce is Batman
Why is Harvey dent becoming the white knight ok w her
Trading the same problem
Why does she discourage Bruce but push Harvey to be a hero
Does this mean killing my main character after step 6 is lazy writing? Or am I okay with not "closing the loop"?
ОтветитьIdk how many times I watched the Dark Knight with the best joker ever
ОтветитьThank you so much. This helped a lot.
ОтветитьJust the hero's journey with different labels. I guess the answer is write a character arc, and keep adding conflict.
ОтветитьCan you do this for super man Spider-Man etc
ОтветитьDan Harmon is an amazing writer, but I don't know how this works for him. These points can't be equal parts of the story; you don't spend the last 15 minutes of a 2-hr movie on how the hero has changed.
ОтветитьAgain: this is stolen from the works of Joseph Campbell. If Dan Harmon was capable of humility he'd stop peddling these ideas as his own. They just aren't. He's admitted it, but is still stealing it.
ОтветитьNice!
ОтветитьThe most complex way to explain that the dark knight is bad
ОтветитьHow can use this information when I hate that movie?
ОтветитьGreat summary
ОтветитьIt looks as a slightly simplified adaptation of Joseph Cambell's "Hero's Journey". Nothing new. It doesn't take time to create this, just read 1 or 2 narratology book or maybe only wikipedia. It's so sad.
ОтветитьLemme just say that it doesn't exactly work in this example. Nolan's Batman is a three part story and ALL of part 2: the Dark Knight, is CHAOS, with moments of humanity spread within.
It'd be better to say that each of these things has to happen, if not in the same order.
Dan Harmon…….?
Ответить"Dan harmon distilled centuries of story telling..."
Joseph Campbell: 😮
This story plan sucks. The whole video sucks. This is bad advice
ОтветитьLike I said yesterday in the video about foil characters, subtitles are essential not only to understand whatever narrator, but the examples themselves. It's a feature that international audience appreciate a lot (like me, from Italy)
ОтветитьDoes it always take 3 hours to explain this story circle ?
ОтветитьWhy would you put a host of roblox between your protagonist and their need right when the things get complicated? It's no time to play around and have fun, I'd say.
ОтветитьThis was fairly nebulous and clear as mud.
ОтветитьBruce Wayne is literally me
Ответитьdan didn't make this. he just simplified joseph campbells "the hero with a thousand faces". it was never 'his' to begin with. probably why this video even exists, to make sure no one sues them.
ОтветитьMaybe instead of praising a fat disgusting perverted pothead you could give credit where it’s actually due. Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey. Dear Lord.
ОтветитьI needed help with my screenplay, so I went to Google and searched. I found this video, which I completely took in. Then I returned to my screenplay and made several changes, and now... I still need help with my screenplay. The End.
Ответитьnow we have AI
ОтветитьThe captions say roblox for roadblocks 😂
ОтветитьRoblox
ОтветитьDon't love your characters too much, because they have to walk through fire eventually. Batman exploring a field of flowers for 2 hours would make for a terrible movie.
