I've passed 213k kilometers. And SoH is at 94 percent.
It's a My2020 awd...
This actually gives me hope about the future of a used car market for EV's. I've never been in a position to buy a new car, the best I've been able to do is one that was nearly 10 years old and nearly 100,000 miles. Years take more of a toll though than miles; I'll be watching for your 10 year ownership report.
ОтветитьSo this guy , samcrac , and Doug demuro are three different guys??? Yeah alright, nice try diddy...
ОтветитьThe more and more I hear about older EV's with "degraded" batteries that only get 50-100 miles and how much they cost now, the more I swaer it would be perfect for me since I literally don't go anywhere and only have a car for emergencies around town. not having to worry about gas going bad after months of not driving very often or other fluids sounds amazing.
ОтветитьIt's not remarkable to hit six figures. Y'all are Addicted to blathering on about the lack of maintenance required for EVs. So what am I supposed to care that one did what you fap to it doing.
ОтветитьI cant wait till Smyth performance do a ute kit for these.
ОтветитьHAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ⛄🎄🥳🥓
ОтветитьI'm not sure I caught what year this vehicle is?
Ответить100k miles in 2.5 years (broken down to hours) means you've been driving this car at an average of 4.57 miles per hour since you've owned it. Better than walking everywhere for sure.
ОтветитьMy dad had a Polestar 2, he parked it for the winter one year, because he still had an ICE car, and missed several updates. When he started driving it again he was unable to install the missed updates. He had to have the updates installed at the service centre. The problem was that the closest service centre is 1200km away. Polestar doesn't allow Volvo dealers in Canada to service their vehicles To Polestar's credit, they arranged, and paid for, the car to be shipped to their service centre and back under warranty to update the software.
Ответитьcalled it but only because my 100k EV is also at 88%
ОтветитьA good way to clean the seatbelts is to soak them in a bucket of strong totally awesome cleaner and warm/hot water. It's easiest to put the bucket in the back seat. just let soak, and then rinse with a clean buck or two after letting soak for 30 minutes or so. Worked great on my 2000 Lexus that has ivory colored belts. (it was filthy). Let dry before allowing to roll back up again...
Ответить160k km... how tho
ОтветитьYou could also assume at 0 miles the SOH was 100%, so now you have 3 datapoints
Ответитьhow on earth is the american mersument system based on 10, ? there is 12 inches in a foot and 3 feet in a yard and 1760 yards in a mile , 10 is nowhere to be found
ОтветитьIs this a big deal doing tbis mileage or something? My vivaro diesel ,which is fully loaded to the max all the times just hit 143,000 miles, never broke, just services and brake pads etc, so id expect an expensive car like this to easily surpass this.
ОтветитьWhat are your charging habits?
Ответить7k USD for 78kWh is an absolute steal.
ОтветитьMy uncle who is in Missouri with family for Xmas showed them my MK2 Robin van and someone said they knew someone round that area had one so I am guessing they were referring to your good self as I doubt there is any other Reliant 3 wheelers in your state. The poor people of Dorset are now exposed to my van's mad antics as it came back yesterday complete rebuild of fuel system and some tweaking done and running like a champion, got to put on two new rear tyres, also time to renew the ignition stuff so bought some high end Mini ignition stuff like decent HT leads, the "C" spark plugs which have a smaller socket fitting, a high end dizzy cap and a sports rotor arm. Only got two jobs to do in new year, front shock and bushes are shagged out and the timing chain cover gasket/seal which is a horrible job but its a weeping a touch out the cover so time to get at it.
ОтветитьI just passed 100000 miles too! In my poor old Chevy Equinox..... Much less cool than yours......
Ответитьdegradation of the battery is also dependent on the amount of times you charge, and also calculated by the rate of charge, the lower rate.... the better for the battery. IE, faster charge bad, slower (trickle) charge... good...er....
I'm only going off the years of experience in RC battery maintenance, and meter readings... and memory, dont't have any of the books I kept on my batteries. also Im sure Ambiant temps hold a factor, the colder temps are harder on batteries... but back in the the day, we would charge our NiCAD batteries in Iced Coolers.... get a higher voltage out of them.... never charged my LiPo batteries when they were cold, always charged them at .5 to 1C before a race.
great video... Love the EV content you do.
ok ... that was just mean ...
Nah, it's closer to the truth than most Tesla owners would like (and I'm sure the Cybertruck is doing its part to make certain it will be even more true in the future ;) )
Anyone notice on ev car videos there is always someone with their arms stretched wide open
ОтветитьElectric cars are a disaster for the planet. Prove me wrong.
ОтветитьWill you ever finish that 900hp conversion project?
ОтветитьLmaooo. Made a remark about tesla but you wouldnt have any of these issues with a tesla. This is crazy
ОтветитьIf you have two points only, it’s inevitable to obtain a line. You can add a third experimental data point by supposing 100% state of health at 0 km.
ОтветитьI have 9-7/8ths fingers. Old timely shop guy....
ОтветитьThat feature that closes the window by holding the lock, I've got that on my '88 Volvo 480.. Obviously it's a key and not a touch thingy 😁
ОтветитьI had a 2023 Polestar 2 rental from Hertz for a few months driving for Uber, returned it with 99,500 miles on it, would still charge to, and actually get 220 miles on a full charge
Ответитьthe windshield might be fixable by going to a windshield replacement shop and have tham add some adhesive under it.
ОтветитьA foot would have 14 inches in a base eight system? So it wouldn't make sense in that parallel universe either..
ОтветитьVolvo made strange cars. Problematic tech fo owner not high Q
ОтветитьI keep watching waiting for you to get a Wartburg 😊
Ответить"the wheel of fortune click" had me dying laughing
ОтветитьWhat happened to the EV Escape project? Could we get an update? I don’t want to push you but it’s been a while since we’ve heard from it and it’s almost 2025
Thanks
To calculate the state of health the BMS needs to get an accurate voltage reading from all cells when they are in the range between 0 and 5% charge.
Take it to 3% or lower state of charge, leave it there for a few hours. Then slow charge it to 100% and let the BMS equalise the battery pack.
This will update the SOH with a much more accurate estimate.
You wanna know something crazy, my 33 year old Ute is at almost 400,000km. It doesn't have a battery SoH and still runs as good as day one (Maybe even better with improvements made) and lost no range. People that boast about electric vehicles are one of the many reasons not to get electric cars.
ОтветитьMy only way of comparing this car to my stuff is to say that my 32 years old Volvo 940 has 560000km on the clock and not a single noise in the suspension, and that my 2020 Lenovo Thinkpad T15 had 98% SoH on the battery the last time I checked. "Real" Thinkpad's have charge limits configurable so I never run them outside of 20/80% charge. Weird comparison, I know. The crazy part is that both my old Volvo and my current laptop probably will outlive this Polestar. And before someone says "planned obsolescence" about laptops, know that no Microsoft OS is allowed in my house (I use OpenBSD and Linux). I also have a 2008 Thinkpad which both run up to date software with acceptable performance and a fully usable battery (thank you charge limiter). I wonder how many EV's that one has outlived already...
ОтветитьIt’s a nice looking car. I went with a Tesla mainly because of price but I couldn’t be happier after 9 month. Still wish my car looked like yours inside and out though.
ОтветитьDo you think you will get a polestar 3 or 4?
ОтветитьYou’ve probably floored it more often than most people do so that’s going to contribute a little bit
ОтветитьWould've liked to know what's your charging pattern, on average, what climate you're living in, if the car is parked in a garage and also how you got 100000 miles within 2 years.
Ответить15 years/150,0000 mile warranty in CA
ОтветитьHave you tried using car play? The car play in my polestar is so inconsistent, it’s genuinely annoying. Sometimes it works perfectly, and sometimes it just goes back and fourth from charging to not charging
Ответитьwitnessed here: first accidental car window d*ck closing !!!
