I love when you drop an enemy who's running with his/her teammates and they all just instantly go to freaking out hahaha meanwhile your across the map laughing as they scramble to try and find cover but they don't know which direction your in haha then rotate a bit and drop another one and they scramble again hahaha

I appreciate the effort but there is a lot of missing info for a beginner guide. I am learning the hard way that some scopes don't adjust magnification. I am trying to figure out which rifles I can even get tracers for. A game like Tarkov is too complex to make covering all the paths realistic, but perhaps covering a handful of options that will work to start with would be good.

I usually never play this game alone but yesterday i was like well lets get killed so i hopped on a customs round with an svd and i waited on one of the construction sites , after 20 minutes a squad of 4 came which was fighting others so i shot at them missed my shots and got out of there instantly , i changed my position to the big construction site and yet again i had missed the first shot and the second bounced of the guys altyn helmet ,i retreat again to the train tracks , one guy pushes me hard and alone and i kill him with hipfire i run away to the big factory building wiht the broken glass and have a perfect view on the body ( soon to be bodies )
i managed to kill 2 more which went for their friends loot and the 3rd guy ran away
i made 2 million that raid since they were mega chads at level 45 plus

what i learned from that was the following :
1. take your time when aiming if they still dont know you are there
2. move positions constantly
3. shoot from the deph of a room , it will mask your silouette
4. dont be greedy

all in all id say my fear of playing alone made me play like it were " real life " and i thought allot about my next move

dont forget to zero in your scopes at further distances by pressing page up or page down. you can practice ranges by learning distances from 2 points on a map or bring a range finder.

So I’m really not trying to step on any toes, it I have never heard anyone telling people the top to click and hold while sniping don’t click and release. Click, shoot, wait half a second then release the mouse. You will hit 80% more of your shots then if you click and instantly release.

M993 > M62

M62 is a troll round for sniping. Everyone on the map can see the tracer and it will get you killed a ton. M993 is a much higher velocity round and makes it easier to hit the shot. Plus it will not give away your position. Best way to learn how to snipe is to dedicate yourself to one gun and one ammo type. Don't gimp yourself with tracers. Put in the time to learn better ammo. Will help you a ton long term. I am a multi wipe lvl 3 mastery DVL player. So I have just a tad bit of experience to speak from. Best of luck friends.

Other good ideas are related to actual sniping techniques. Cover and concealment, can be key. Basic confusion as well.

Hitting someone who isnt in the front of a group adds confusion, since the people up front wont see how the person died. A head going back and to the left, gives a lot of information. But only if there are people behind them, to see the head go back and to the left. If you pop the guy in the back, and everyone turns around, you can do the same thing to the new "guy in the back". You can also intentionally wait, if they found cover that doesn't actually help them. It will make them think you're somewhere else, since you "totally would have killed them already if you had a shot on them." So they might make your job even easier for you, by using meds checking ammo etc, assuming they are safe from you. Note.. a group of chads with discord more than likely wont bother with this, so use your judgement, blyat.

Your rifle sticking out 500 meters from the window you're standing at, tells literally anyone who can see the building, that you are there. Make note of where your damn barrel is, and take some steps back. Seeing as much as possible is for foot soldiers, not snipers. Conceal your ass or you'll feel your ass get splattered on the wall. Make the window, the center of a clock, and you, the minute hand.

This might be counter intuitive, but.. a helmet might get you killed more than not having one. Big shiny helmet popping out of the leaves, nice olive green helmet in a dark green bush. Might as well hire a sign spinner to stand over you. You'll probably lose less money that way. Using a Shmaska might be nicer for you. Specially when the good maps to be doing sniping, people are going to run things that open helmets like tuna cans anyway, and scavs shouldn't be able to know where you are to begin with unless you're an idiot.

One day I hope ghillie suits are added to the game. Make them available from ragman, and you can go out, and collect actual plants for it. There's a body temp meter in your health section, so I'm wondering if this is what that'll be for later. Ghillie suits get damn hot. Bring water.

Another possibly much less obvious tip... Don't focus on the gun, focus on the ammo.
The reason is even if you make the best gun in the game, if you load terrible ammo into it you might as well be using the same gun as the scavs, and this is even more true for snipers (More specifically bolt actions). Sometimes it is better to bring less of better ammo (Generally Armor piercing is your friend). Cause the worst feeling is landing a very good shot.... but then not killing him cause his armor saved him.

Having recently hit lvl 44 and spent it all pretty much running shotguns, ARs and SMGs I’m having a stupid amount of fun taking in a DMR or bolt action into raids. Nothing quite like dropping a duo member and watching the teammate panic in absolute disbelief.

Not sure that this tip would be easy to implement, but if your far enough and using a suppressed sniper then could be possible to mislead your target into thinking that your at a angle by not taking shots at them when they use certain covers even if you can see them. So that you can get them to think that they are safe from a specific angle and use it to get one of them to sit still long enough to aim up a shot a bit better... not sure though, just an idea I had.

Dear author of that video!
Ur video doesnt carry any usefull information in sniping, I am sorry to say this. Where are sniper spots on the map, where are words about how to count the distance, where is a work with scopes? People want know this, not your theory, which is known for everybody.
I can say so because i am a sniper in Tarkov till it has been released, its very simple for me to work with Mosin with PU-scope for 600 metres. People want to know, how to be an effective sniper.

Another tip for sniping I haven't heard any streamers talk about, While using a bolt action sniper rifle, if you don't release the left mouse button after you take a shot you don't work the bolt to reload a round. it allows your scope to get back on target after the recoil so you can better see the fall of the round you fired. again, fire a round and KEEP the left mouse button pushed down youll better be able to see where the round hits because you can get your eyes on target faster. But... it slows your ability to fire that follow up round do to the fact you haven't worked the bolt to load another round. It is handy trick thou to help you understand the ballistic drop your dealing with so the next round has a better chance to land a fatal hit.

Don't know if I missed it, but: if you hold the mouse button after taking a shot, you'll keep looking down the scope and won't cycle the bolt until you let go. This can be handy on the mosin and others so you can see the effect of your shot and how your target reacts before loading the next round

Do you ever change the range on your scopes? I do for snipers/DMRs using 4x or greater magnification. Most bullets zero at 200-250M out of a 16-24" rifle barrel IRL. I set my range at 200, then I have to think less about bullet drop. If you are sniping someone at 50M, aim for the face instead of the dome. BTW impressive on 1300 hours- I'm only at 700+, explains why I still suck at EFT but it is addictive. I guess critical thing is to be consistent. As always, great content Jesse, thanks!
