2023 Nissan Rogue AWD Midnight Edition - POV Night Driving Impressions

Random observation - but the screen interface on your Rogue seems different than most. Any reason? Is this customizable? I like the Rogue am not a fan of the screen so lean towards using Apple Carplay - however yours looks much nicer!

But where is that AWD Button?

I have driven this and the ride is not still at all. Very comfortable suspension and seats.

Currently drive a pretty crappy 2009 Saturn Vue XE, and I'm looking forward to this being my upgrade. Appreciate the review; beautiful vehicle.

That engine sound everyone loves including myself on these new rogues. Believe it or not is "piped in" through the speakers. Yes you heard that right folks it's a simulated sound. But as the reviewer stated it DOES sound like a baby V6. And i really dig that Nissan added this little nicety over what other 3 or 4cyl manufacturers are offering.

more economy cars need to have built in rear sunshades.

I had a previous gen SV midnight edition in white and wow can i tell you how much better this generation is. From the improved interior bits to the design inside and out this CUV is leagues above the last gen. Kudos to Nissan!

I hate the fake shifts, it doesn't even mimic the shifts very well.... Should've let it do like older CVT, no fake shifts.

Pleasantly surprised by the interior, and liking the new exterior on the Rogues.

Never thought I’d say I like the engine sound of a Nissan rogue but here we are lol 🤷🏼‍♂️

Rogues have always been a very comfortable car to live with, and no exception here~~ I do want Nissan to switch to a conventional automatic rather than a CVT, but still a nice SUV to live with nonetheless, and that's really all people want these days.

I think a Mazda cx3/5 would be a better choice for reliability reasons, Nissan CVTs are notoriously unreliable

Those fake shift and the droning is a major turn off. I don't understand the hype of CVT's. I know it's all in the name of MPG, but its not a real transmission. It's like a scooter, revving the hell out of the engine, making a lot of noise and barely getting anywhere, especially with the 3 cylinder.

I couldn't imagine paying nearly 40k for one of these...

Of course I still watch because it's Topher, I mean come on. Good on you for finding the positives of the car. That's why you're the auto journalist haha

Well played by Nissan to go to a 3 cylinder turbo since they don’t have a hybrid to go up against the Rav-4 or CR-V. Impressed with sound and the handling you reported. This is Nissan’s bread and butter and it looks like this update will keep it that way.

I’ve driven almost every Nissan in their lineup, and usually dislike them. This generation rogue is really nice. Nissan has managed to not make the CVT godawful. Tho if I was in the market for an SUV of this size I’d probably swing for a VW Tiguan or Jeep Cherokee.

I currently own a 2009 Sentra CVT that was traded in at my work and I bought it for $450… it’s been solid… but man oh man CVTs still suck any enjoyment out of driving.

Ok, now I just have to imagine what the car looks like outside. I don't like to have to do that.

When I watched your other review on the new Rogue, I listened to the sound of the engine and said out loud, "Wow Nissan put a V6 in the Rogue. I can't believe they did that." I then scrolled and looked the specs. I could not believe that the new Rogues come with 1.5 L 3 Cylinder.

Would rather get a Hyundai Tuscon to be honest. The interior looks like it's stuck in early 2010s.

36k for a 3 cylinder is a nope for me.

I couldn't trust a 3 cylinder CUV/SUV.

Tachometer looks to be a little deceiving; there is no reason it should be moving around as much as it is.
