I feel like Roguelikes with literally no form of inter-run advancement are just... not fun. Progression is functionally null, so... why?

I bet he did better on run 59, because of the adrenaline rush you get when you’re at low HP. It just generally causes you to preform better

Bruh the part about the health drain just to get more health made me think of Isaac so much.

the sword that can kill the whole universe is super good because not only does it do the 2nd most damage out of any sword in the game, it also has an attack speed of 2.3, it increases your max health by 20% and it adds a 50% damage multiplier to your ranged weapons like bows and guns. sad part is the story boss on floor 8 is immune to the sword so you have to use ranged weapons in that fight if you have the sword, which is pretty annoying because it's a very small battle arena so you can't get the most out of the extra damage you get from being further away.

Why do Dead Cells trap hurt so god damn much?

My experience with roguelikes is, I tried dead cells after playing hollow knight because I thought they were similar, then I found out the hard truth, hated it progressively more as I kept playing it until I stopped, and never touched a roguelike again

Plays wizard of legends: -gets the double face mask (YOur crits makes double damge but as well for the enemys)
-Gets cristal canon ( double the crits damge but reduce the Max HP)
-Uses the rage cloth ( More crit damge and chance)
-Gets a single crit on the boss and now he Is on half health
